Kyle Hill Interview - NFL Draft Blitz

Kyle Hill Interview

Kyle Hill – Wide Receiver – Senior – Saint Anselm College

Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Kyle Hill:  5’10, 180 pounds and 4.4.

Alex Khvatov:  Where will you be training for the NFL Draft?

Kyle Hill:  I will be sticking with the people who helped me get to where I am now, training with my coaching staff at school, and my trainers back home in Maryland.

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Kyle Hill:  Only playing receiver one year in high school, I wasn’t heavily recruited.  I had small interest from schools like Towson and East Carolina, which wanted me to walk on and change positions, and a bunch of D-II schools.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose Saint Anselm College?

Kyle Hill:  I choose Saint Anselm because of my relationship with the now coach at Holy Cross Patrick Murphy.  I knew if I went there I would have the immediate chance to play if I came ready.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Kyle Hill:  My strengths are my ability to play almost any position.  I can play both inside receiver and outside.  I also can be a return specialist.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Kyle Hill:  I’m trying to get better every single day at everything I do.  I want to become great at everything.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall career.

Kyle Hill:  My career had ups and downs.  I had an all-conference freshman year, then I blew up with a 1,000-yards and 11 touchdown season my sophomore year.  Then my QB transferred, and I had a down year my junior year.  But I still hauled in six touchdowns.  I came back my senior year, being an absolute leader and a big play maker.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Kyle Hill:  The highlight of my career is probably becoming one of two players in school history to score 20 touchdowns in a career.

Alex Khvatov:  What have you learned the most from your coaching staff?

Kyle Hill:  I learned from my coaching staff the importance of brotherhood and treating everyday like it’s your last.  No days are promised, and I also learned that from my teammate who was paralyzed during a game this year.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Kyle Hill:  I root for the Redskins because my dad is a fan.  But I’m more of a player guy.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Kyle Hill:  I like Sterling Shepard, Kennan Allen, Antonio Brown, and guys that went to my high school who are in the league like Zachary Pascal, Marcus Allen and Ryan Smith.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for a WR?

Kyle Hill:  The most important traits for receivers are being able to get open against any coverage and having great ball skills.

Alex Khvatov:  Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that you are looking for from a defense?

Kyle Hill:  I like to look at alignment.  During the week from watching film, I look at all of their weaknesses, so I can exploit them.

Alex Khvatov:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on next season?

Kyle Hill:  Definitely look out for our 6’3 LB CJ Miller, Charles Elliot and Christian Mathews-Byrd.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is the toughest player that you have faced on an opposing team?

Kyle Hill:  Toughest player I played this past year was #5 linebacker from LIU POST.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall experience at the 2018 National Bowl.

Kyle Hill:  The National Bowl was an amazing experience being in front of the NFL scouts showing them what I can do.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the biggest thing that you will take away from that all-star game?

Kyle Hill:  The biggest thing I took away from the all-star game was that you have to make the best of every opportunity you have.  There is a lot of people who want to be in my spot, and I have to continue to grow and get better.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Kyle Hill:  I enjoy the team aspect, going to war with your brothers and being able to compete with the best competition.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your biggest role model and why?

Kyle Hill:  My role models are all of my family who push me, my high school coaches who helped me get to where I am and my high school teammates who are in the league now.  I’m going to work to get there too!

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Kyle Hill:  I love to play basketball.  I won a state championship in high school my junior year.  I also love to swim.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Kyle Hill:  I love to be out in the community helping.  I will be graduating with a criminal justice and peace degree, and a minor in sociology.  So I would be looking to go into mediation and arbitration.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the biggest lesson that you have learned in life so far?

Kyle Hill:  The biggest lesson I’ve learned in life so far is to love who loves you and never take anything and any day for granted.  Tomorrow isn’t promised.  Thank God for what you have and keep going.

Alex Khvatov:  What five words best describe you?

Kyle Hill:  Versatile, determined, hard working, accountable and dedicated.

Alex Khvatov:  Who will win the National Championship in CFB this year?

Kyle Hill:  I would like Oklahoma to win, but I believe Alabama will win.

Alex Khvatov:  Who will win Super Bowl LIII in February?

Kyle Hill:  Being close to Boston, I’ve learned to never count Tom Brady out, but I want the Chiefs to win.
