Kurron Ramsey Interview - NFL Draft Blitz

Kurron Ramsey Interview

Kurron Ramsey – Safety – Senior – Alabama State

Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Kurron Ramsey:  6’3, 203, 4.54.

Alex Khvatov:  Where will you be training for the NFL Draft?

Kurron Ramsey:  Georgia Sports Performance.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall experience at the FCS Bowl all-star game in Daytona Beach, FL.

Kurron Ramsey:  I loved it.  It was very competitive and gave you an opportunity to showcase your talents in front of multiple scouts and people once again.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the biggest thing that you will take away from that weekend?

Kurron Ramsey:  The biggest thing I will take away from that weekend is that it is good talent all across the country.  Don’t just think because you are the top premier athlete in your conference, you are the hottest thing out.  It humbles you.

Alex Khvatov:  Who was the best player that you have faced at the FCS Bowl?

Kurron Ramsey:  That’s hard to say because everybody there was good.

Alex Khvatov:  How honored are you to get an invite to the Tropical Bowl all-star game in January?

Kurron Ramsey:  I’m very honored because before the FCS Bowl I was telling my parents that I was going to make the cut to get into that bowl game.  Just blessed that somebody noticed me and feels like I can play on the FBS level.  It’s another opportunity to play in front of scouts.  I can’t ask for anything better than that.

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Kurron Ramsey:  Only Alabama State University.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose Alabama State?

Kurron Ramsey:  Coach Reggie Barlow was the only one that believed in me and still to this day he does, and I appreciate that.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Kurron Ramsey:  My length, size and also my range. I’m also versatile.  I am able to guard the slot, tight ends and outside receivers because of my height and length.  I can matchup with anybody on the field.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Kurron Ramsey:  My man coverage because that’s really what the NFL seems to be based on now.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall career.

Kurron Ramsey:  Of course, I could say that I had a good career, but that would be a good question to ask my teammates or peers.  I don’t want to be biased.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your biggest accomplishment that you are most proud of?

Kurron Ramsey:  Telling myself that I was going to make all-conference before the season.  I started after I didn’t get any recognition in the preseason and at the end of the year, I came out on top making the all-conference list.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Kurron Ramsey:  Getting invited to the FBS Tropical Bowl.

Alex Khvatov:  What have you learned the most from your coaching staff?

Kurron Ramsey:  I’ve had a new position coach in college every year, so I learned a lot and can play a lot of techniques because every coach has a different technique they want you to play.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Kurron Ramsey:  New York Giants.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Kurron Ramsey:  DJ Swearinger.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for a safety?

Kurron Ramsey:  Don’t allow any deep balls.

Alex Khvatov:  Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that you are looking for from the offense?

Kurron Ramsey:  Personnel, formations, wide receiver splits and down and distance.

Alex Khvatov:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?

Kurron Ramsey:  Josh Hill and Ezra Gray.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is the toughest player that you have faced on an opposing team?

Kurron Ramsey:  Everybody you play in the SWAC is tough.  I can’t really pin point anybody.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Kurron Ramsey:  Making plays, but also how it teaches you life lessons.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your biggest role model and why?

Kurron Ramsey:  My parents because they are the true definition of hard work that pays off.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your definition of a leader?

Kurron Ramsey:  Just somebody who doesn’t really have to say too much and will still have people look up to them and want follow after them in any situation that occurs.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Kurron Ramsey:  Shopping and hanging out with my friends and family.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Kurron Ramsey:  Invest in a business to help players from lower level schools such as the FCS to get the recognition they deserve.

Alex Khvatov:  What five words best describe you?

Kurron Ramsey:  Only got one… underdog.

Alex Khvatov:  Who will win the National Championship in CFB this year?

Kurron Ramsey:  Alabama.

Alex Khvatov:  Who will win Super Bowl LIII in February?

Kurron Ramsey:  I wish it was the Giants, but I believe the Chiefs will win the Super Bowl.
