Kyle Anthony:  6’2, 205 and high 4.5.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall experience at the FCS Bowl in Daytona Beach, FL.

Kyle Anthony:  My experience at the FCS Bowl was great.  Blessed to have the opportunity to showcase my talent and ability against other top players in the FCS.

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Kyle Anthony:  Marshall, Miami (OH), FAMU, Howard, Middle Tennessee State.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose Howard?

Kyle Anthony:  It was meant for me to be there.  When I landed in DC, it was a feeling that said I needed to be there.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Kyle Anthony:  My size, physicality, route running, being a valuable red zone target & my overall understanding of my opponent and the game of football.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Kyle Anthony:  My speed.

Alex Khvatov:  Tell us about your overall career.

Kyle Anthony:  My career has been a roller coaster ride.  I’ve been coached under 4 head coaches, 4 different offensive coordinators, 3 receiver coaches and played with 5 different quarterbacks.  With all the change, I was still able to produce nonetheless.  Finished as a 4x All MEAC selection, was placed on the All-MEAC Academic team every year, finished as the all-time reception leader in school history and second all-time in receiving yards.  Despite the change throughout the team, I feel that I was able to overcome my circumstances.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Kyle Anthony:  Being able to upset UNLV my sophomore year.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your biggest accomplishment in college that you are most proud of?

Kyle Anthony:  Being able to impact and inspire the players that came after me.  With all the accomplishments that I was able to achieve, I believe that being an influence to others was the biggest one because they were able to see that no matter what the circumstances are, I was able to overcome them and still be a great leader and player.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the biggest thing that you took away from your coaching staff?

Kyle Anthony:  To keep working no matter how much drama and chaos there was around us.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for a WR?

Kyle Anthony:  I think at any position, the most important trait is your mentality and work ethic.  If you’re tougher than your opponent mentally and believe you can beat them, then you will.  Also, if you have the mental toughness to outlast your opponent you have an advantage.  Then when you work and prepare to beat them, you will.  Those traits combined will help any player at any position be the best they can be.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Kyle Anthony:  The Colts.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Kyle Anthony:  Michael Thomas & Marvin Harrison.

Alex Khvatov:  Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that you are looking for from the defense?

Kyle Anthony:  Where the safety is pre-snap, where the corners eyes are, if the corner is bailing or pressed, if the LB is creeping or vacating, and if I will be hot if one of the LBs is blitzing.

Alex Khvatov:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?

Kyle Anthony:  Dedrick Parson, Quinton Williams, Aaron Walker, Quinton Hill.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is the toughest player that you have faced on an opposing team?

Kyle Anthony:  Mac McCain.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Kyle Anthony:  The grind along with the sweat, soreness and bruises that come after practice or a game.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your definition of a leader?

Kyle Anthony:  Someone that upholds the standard of excellence when people are around and when they aren’t around.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Kyle Anthony:  I’m trying to start learning how to cook healthy dishes.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Kyle Anthony:  Help my community and start and oversee my own or other businesses and nonprofits.
