Alex Khvatov: How would you describe your overall experience at the 2020 East/West Shrine Bowl?
Luther Kirk: It’s been amazing. From visiting the hospital and seeing the top guys from college out here on the field. It’s been great learning and competing.
Alex Khvatov: Who was the toughest guy to go up against in practice this week?
Luther Kirk: I have seen him twice this year. I have also seen him twice this week. TE from NDSU (Ben Ellefson).
Alex Khvatov: How did you wind up at Illinois State?
Luther Kirk: I grew up in Texas. I was pretty highly recruited. I had an ankle injury my junior year. I dropped off the boards. I still had Illinois State and other FCS offers on the board. Illinois State was having a lot of success. They were sending a lot of guys to the NFL. I had a connection with them from the guy that went to my high school. I seemed like a really good fit for me.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Luther Kirk: I was a two-time captain in college.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Luther Kirk: My speed, range and being a leader.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Luther Kirk: I need to improve on my tackling, footwork and technique.
Alex Khvatov: Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?
Luther Kirk: I am working out in Texas with someone that I grew up with my whole life.
Alex Khvatov: What one word best describes you?
Luther Kirk: Genuine.
