Jabari Zuniga
Defensive End / Florida
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to prove to NFL teams at the Senior Bowl this week?
Jabari Zuniga: I have everything to prove. My senior year didn’t go as I planned. I missed a total of eight games. I only played in two games completely healthy. I want to prove that I can pass rush from multiple positions. I just want to prove that I am a good football player.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Jabari Zuniga: The highlight of my career was the goal-line stand against Georgia. We really showed that we are a prominent defense.
Alex Khvatov: What has coach Mullen brought to the program?
Jabari Zuniga: He brought excitement. The excitement around the program has picked up. He is always trying to juice all of the guys up.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Jabari Zuniga: Versatility. I can pass rush from different positions on the line. I can play five-technique on first and second downs. Rush the passer on third down. Coach Grantham had a complex scheme at Florida. I am a versatile player.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Jabari Zuniga: Probably holding my run fits. I saw when I was double teamed, I got pushed out of my gap.
Alex Khvatov: Give me a scouting report on your teammate DE Jonathan Greenard.
Jabari Zuniga: Jonathan is a great dude. On the field, he had 10 sacks and 18 TFL’s. Off the field is where he separates himself. He is a likeable dude. He talks to everybody. He is very humble.
Alex Khvatov: How did you wind up at Florida?
Jabari Zuniga: I was committed to NC State for about six or seven months. I didn’t have any other big offers. At the end of my senior season, I got a few SEC offers. Coach Collins called me up. He was the defensive coordinator at Florida at the time. I went on a visit. I fell in love with the program. The facilities, the coaches and the players. I committed on the spot.
Alex Khvatov: How would you describe yourself?
Jabari Zuniga: A humble giant.
