DT Larrell Murchison (NC State) Senior Bowl Interview

Larrell Murchison

Defensive Tackle / NC State

Ed Hunt:  How are you feeling going into your first Senior Bowl practice?

Larrell Murchison:  I’m feeling good.  Just ready to show what I can do.  Whatever they want me to play, whatever position they want me to play, I just want to show how versatile I am and what I’m able to do.

Ed Hunt:  How did you feel about your weigh-in today?

Larrell Murchison:  I feel good.  The heaviest I’ve been is what I consistently weigh-in, so I feel good.

Ed Hunt:  What’s the best fit for you in the NFL as far as position?

Larrell Murchison:  I like the three technique and one technique.  Those are positions that I feel very comfortable at.  That’s what I like to play.

Ed Hunt:  Do you think of yourself as a better run stopper or a pass rusher?

Larrell Murchison:  I like stopping the run.  I would say right now, I am a better pass rusher.

Ed Hunt:  Where are you training?

Larrell Murchison:  At Texas.

Ed Hunt:  What’s the main thing they’ve taught you at North Carolina State?

Larrell Murchison:  Always be aggressive.  Always follow the rules which is your responsibility and play with maximum effort.

Ed Hunt:  What would you say are your biggest strengths?

Larrell Murchison:  I would say explosion off the ball.  I would say, I am really explosive.

Ed Hunt:  What do you want to show the coaches here in Mobile?

Larrell Murchison:  I want to show them how versatile I am.  I want to show them what I can do with my size and my weight.

Ed Hunt:  Who was the hardest guy you matched up against at North Carolina State?

Larrell Murchison:  I would say the center from Texas A&M in 2018, Erik McCoy.

Ed Hunt:  How did you do against Erik McCoy?

Larrell Murchison:  I didn’t go up against him much.  I feel like I would have done pretty good against him.  I didn’t go against him much, but you know I would say he is pretty good.

Ed Hunt:  Playing at the Senior Bowl against guys you are going to be playing in the NFL.  Is this a big step for you?

Larrell Murchison:  Yes, sir, this is a huge step.  You know, I’m grateful to be here around all this great talent.  Just to show what I could do.

Ed Hunt:  Is there a player comparison?  A guy you like to watch film on?

Larrell Murchison:  I love watching my old teammate Justin Jones.  I feel like he can play in the NFL.  I like watching his game and his film just doing what he does.
