Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall experience at the Tropical Bowl in Daytona Beach, FL.

Maxwell Howell:  It was a great opportunity especially what Mike Quartey does for us.  To make sure we are put in great positions to showcase our talent.

Alex Khvatov:  What was the biggest thing that you took away from that all-star weekend?

Maxwell Howell:  Cherish every moment you have on a football field because you never know when it can be your last.

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Maxwell Howell:  I had power 5 offers from schools like Ohio State, Maryland, Temple and etc.

Alex Khvatov:  How did you wind up at Ohio?

Maxwell Howell:  Ohio was the first school to offer me right after my sophomore year and they remained consistent throughout the process.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you transfer to Portland State?

Maxwell Howell:  The big sky is a well-respected conference in the FCS.  Portland State is known for over the years to schedule major FBS opponents.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Maxwell Howell:  One area of my game that I consider to be my biggest strength is my ability to play man to man.  Being as big as I am, it is rare to find big corners with the ability to flip their hips fluidly and to break smoothly.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Maxwell Howell:  One area of my game to improve is being more technically sound because that separates good from great players at the next level.

Alex Khvatov:  Tell us about your overall career.

Maxwell Howell:  My overall career at Portland State has been very under the radar, seldomly tried.  I have gone through a lot of games where they didn’t throw my way.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Maxwell Howell:  The pick I grabbed against Nevada before the second half.  It put us in a position to tie the game.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your biggest accomplishment in college that you are most proud of?

Maxwell Howell:  Only giving up one TD pass in the three years when I was at Portland State.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for a CB?

Maxwell Howell:  Short term memory and the mentality that you are going to lockdown one side of the field.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Maxwell Howell:  I don’t have one.  I just watch football now to see where I can improve my game from other players.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Maxwell Howell:  Michael Vick

Alex Khvatov:  Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that you are looking for from the offense?

Maxwell Howell:  I look at receiver splits whether they are lined up wide or tight.  The formation they are in to get a feel for what I think is coming.

Alex Khvatov:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?

Maxwell Howell:  Ryan Lesch and Emmanuel Daigbe.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is the best player that you have faced on an opposing team?

Maxwell Howell:  I have competed against various quality players, but my personal belief is that I constantly challenge myself to improve daily.
