CB Reggie Robinson II (Tulsa) Senior Bowl Interview - NFL Draft Blitz

CB Reggie Robinson II (Tulsa) Senior Bowl Interview

Reggie Robinson II

Cornerback / Tulsa

Ed Hunt:  How are you feeling today for this upcoming Senior Bowl practice?

Reggie Robinson II:  I feel ready and excited.

Ed Hunt:  What is it like being invited to the Senior Bowl?  Do you feel honored?

Reggie Robinson II:  It is once in a lifetime type of thing.  At the end of the season, I didn’t get an invite right away.  I was invited late.  Very honored.

Ed Hunt:  Is this a big opportunity for you to show what you can do against guys from bigger schools?

Reggie Robinson II:  That’s been the biggest question is how I prepare for guys from bigger schools.  I want to come out here and show I can play against guys from other schools.

Ed Hunt:  Who was the toughest receiver you have covered, playing at Tulsa?

Reggie Robinson II:  This year, I would probably say James Proche.  His route running ability and his catching radius made him tough.

Ed Hunt:  How did you do against him in your mind?

Reggie Robinson II:  I did okay, but I did end up giving up a big play that was a touchdown to him.

Ed Hunt:  Talk to me about having a short memory and how that’s important to being a cornerback?

Reggie Robinson II:  It’s one of the most important things to have.  If you give up a big play, you can’t just dwell on it.  It can make your play even worse.  You have to just forget about it.  You have to remember it, like remember what happened, but forget how it made you feel.  Continue doing your job.

Ed Hunt:  What are your strengths?

Reggie Robinson II:  My strength is my physicality, length and my speed.

Ed Hunt:  What is the goal here this week?

Reggie Robinson II:  I want to show that I am the best corner here.  I am not just a press corner.  I can play off man and zone.

Ed Hunt:  Do you believe that you are one of the best press corners in this draft?

Reggie Robinson II:  Yes, sir.  I do believe that I am one of the best press corners.

Ed Hunt:  What’s one thing you are working on here in Mobile?

Reggie Robinson II:  Right now, I would probably say my mobility, just like working on my hips right now.  I have been called stiff.

Ed Hunt:  Do you know your 40 time right now?

Reggie Robinson II:  It’s around 4.4 or 4.3.

Ed Hunt:  Is there a cornerback that you model yourself after?

Reggie Robinson II:  There have been a lot of guys in my time at TU that I watch.  There are guys like Xavier Rhodes and Richard Sherman.  I also like bigger corners.  I look at them because I’m also a bigger corner.

Ed Hunt:  What is the highlight of your career?

Reggie Robinson II:  This last season.  I kind of exploded.  The one memory is my first interception.

Ed Hunt:  How did you wind up at Tulsa?

Reggie Robinson II:  My first offer was Kansas State out of high school.  I was planning to go there, but some things didn’t work out.  I was back in the process of somewhere to go.  I was first offered by the old coaching staff at Tulsa.  Then they got fired.  Then the new coaching staff offered me again.

Ed Hunt:  Where are you training for the NFL Draft?

Reggie Robinson II:  Yeah, I’m training at MJP in McKinney, Texas.

Ed Hunt:  What one word best describes you?

Reggie Robinson II:  Physical.
