TE Brycen Hopkins (Purdue) Senior Bowl Interview

Brycen Hopkins

Tight End / Purdue

Ed Hunt:  What is the feeling being here in Mobile, AL for the Senior Bowl?

Brycen Hopkins:  Yeah, you get here, and you see how big this event is.  You let it sink in and then you realize what an opportunity it is for all these players to showcase their skills with all these coaches around us.  If you really take advantage of it, then you know it’s going to be a good deal for you.

Ed Hunt:  Who is the best tight end at the Senior Bowl this year?

Brycen Hopkins:  I would say myself.  A little biased, but yeah.

Ed Hunt:  Do you see yourself as more of a blocking tight end or more of a receiving tight end?

Brycen Hopkins:  I see myself as a 50-50 tight end, so whatever you ask me to do, I’m going to do it.  My strengths are my athleticism in the receiving game, but if you watch my film and my technique, you will see that I can really get into the trenches.  I’m also a willing blocker.  I will do whatever you ask.

Ed Hunt:  What is the biggest thing you are going to work on this week?

Brycen Hopkins:  This week, just physicality and sticking my head in there and showing that I’m a willing blocker as well as showing admiration from safeties and linebackers trying to cover me.  I’m going to break people down in the one on one’s and showcase my athletic ability and why I’m here.

Ed Hunt:  Have you talked to any scouts yet?

Brycen Hopkins:  I’ve talked to plenty of scouts.  Too many to count.  Almost all of them have had interest.

Ed Hunt:  Is there any theme about what they are telling you right now?

Brycen Hopkins:  Just go out there and show them what I can do in terms of the physicality standpoint and really be an all-around player, so I can get my stock up.
