T.J. Brunson
Linebacker / South Carolina
Alex Khvatov: Tell us about this Senior Bowl experience.
T.J. Brunson: Competing against the best guys. I am enjoying the platform where I can just showcase my skills. It’s been a great experience. I am learning from these coaches here.
Alex Khvatov: What did you want to show NFL teams this week?
T.J. Brunson: I want to show them I will be a very good player. I am a great competitor. I am versatile. I can play wherever you need me. I can run around and make plays.
Alex Khvatov: What is the biggest attribute that you bring to the field?
T.J. Brunson: I communicate well and I have a high motor. I can play sideline-to-sideline.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
T.J. Brunson: The details of the position. I have to understand what the offense is trying to do to the defense. Playing in space and moving around better. Coming out of transitions better.
Alex Khvatov: How did you wind up at South Carolina?
T.J. Brunson: I tried to commit there my senior year. They held me off because I had hip surgery. I was committed to Louisville that spring up until I took my official visit there. I got home and de-committed. Coach Muschamp got the job there. He came to my school and told me how he felt about me. He wanted me to be a part of the team. I got to stay close to home. I got a great education. I also played in the SEC.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
T.J. Brunson: The biggest highlight is the relationships that I have been able to build. I can’t pinpoint one specific play or one specific game. I got to play with a bunch of guys who came out to play regardless of the score the week before. We busted our tails and did everything we could to win.
Alex Khvatov: Who was the toughest opponent that you faced in the SEC?
T.J. Brunson: Week in and week out is a battle. Everyone comes out ready to play in the SEC. Georgia is probably one of those teams. You have to put your big boy pants to stop them.
