Jake Bofshever: I’m 6’0, 194lbs and will run a 4.4 at the pro day.
Alex Khvatov: Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?
Jake Bofshever: I’m training at XPE in Boca FL with Tony Villani.
Alex Khvatov: When is your Pro Day? What are your expectations?
Jake Bofshever: March 12 at Columbia in New York. To show that I have what it takes to make an impact in the next level.
Alex Khvatov: Tell us about the FCS Bowl in Daytona Beach, FL.
Jake Bofshever: Great event. Met a lot of cool people and great players and spoke to a lot of NFL scouts.
Alex Khvatov: How would you describe your overall experience at the Tropical Bowl?
Jake Bofshever: Awesome experience competing vs the top players in the country, showing that I can beat and compete with anyone at any level. Coaches were awesome, and I spoke to a bunch of NFL scouts.
Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?
Jake Bofshever: FAU, FIU, Marist, Wagner, Fordham and LIU.
Alex Khvatov: How did you wind up at Long Island?
Jake Bofshever: God pointed me that way.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Jake Bofshever: Reliable, consistent, smart, relentless and hungry.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Jake Bofshever: All parts of my game. Nothing’s perfect. Looking to improve in everything.
Alex Khvatov: Tell us about your overall career.
Jake Bofshever: I came in as a QB and made the switch to slot my sophomore year. Wasn’t an easy road, but with great support group and leaders around me, I was able to grow and turn myself into a good player. I won a lot of football games and I am always around great people.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Jake Bofshever: Winning the championship my JR year! Nothing like it.
Alex Khvatov: What is your biggest accomplishment in college that you are most proud of?
Jake Bofshever: The man I am today vs the man I was my freshman year for sure.
Alex Khvatov: What was the biggest thing that you took away from your coaching staff?
Jake Bofshever: Nothing’s given to you, earn everything. Team first always.
Alex Khvatov: What is the most important trait for a WR?
Jake Bofshever: Being reliable and consistently being a player, the coaches and teammates can count on every day.
Alex Khvatov: What is your favorite NFL team?
Jake Bofshever: Patriots.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?
Jake Bofshever: Tom Brady.
Alex Khvatov: Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that you are looking for from the defense?
Jake Bofshever: Where the safeties line up and leverage from LB.
Alex Khvatov: What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?
Jake Bofshever: There are too many to mention because a lot of them are going to turn a lot of heads, but keep an eye out for Derick Eugene. The kid is an absolute stud.
Alex Khvatov: Who is the toughest player that you have faced on an opposing team?
Jake Bofshever: The corner from South Dakota State was pretty good.
Alex Khvatov: What do you enjoy most about football?
Jake Bofshever: The team competition and toughness of the game for sure.
Alex Khvatov: What is your definition of a leader?
Jake Bofshever: Somebody who doesn’t care about if people like them or not. They do what they believe is best and never put self-interest first (Clay Beathard perfect example).
Alex Khvatov: What are your hobbies?
Jake Bofshever: Football, working out, hanging with family and most importantly having a relationship with God.
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?
Jake Bofshever: Not 100% sure, but definitely be a great father, family member and leader in the community.
