Best Picks – Day Three (2020 NFL Draft)

2020 NFL Draft

DAY THREE

BEST PICKS

128th Overall Pick (4th Round) WR Gabriel Davis (UCF) – Buffalo Bills

Davis has a good frame and strong hands.  He excels on streaks and slant routes.  He tracks the ball well over his shoulder and has good body control.  He is a physical WR who will be a good complement to Stefon Diggs and John Brown.

130th Overall Pick (4th Round) DL James Lynch (Baylor) – Minnesota Vikings

He was the Big 12 defensive player of the year in 2019.  Lynch displays good quickness off the snap.  He knows how to use his hands pretty well and has impressive pass rush repertoire moves.  He also shows the ability to split a double team and has a motor that never stops.

139th Overall Pick (4th Round) CB Amik Robertson (LA Tech) – Oakland Raiders

This was the best selection by the Raiders in the entire draft.  Despite being undersized, he is a physical corner who plays much bigger than his size would indicate.  He excels in press coverage and uses the jam effectively at the line of scrimmage.  Robertson is an instinctive corner with great ball skills.

201st Overall Pick (6th Round) WR James Proche (SMU) – Baltimore Ravens

Proche was my most underrated receiver in this entire draft.  He makes a living making tough, contested catches in traffic.  He has outstanding hands and has good body control.  He does a great job finding openings and exploiting zone coverage.  He also uses a wicked stiff arm after the catch and is a good blocker.

222nd Overall Pick (7th Round) RB Eno Benjamin (Arizona State) – Arizona Cardinals

This is a major steal for the Cardinals in the seventh round.  Benjamin is one of the best pass catching RB’s in this entire draft.  He runs with good power and balance.  He is a patient runner who waits for his blocks to develop.  He also shows a deadly spin move.

254th Overall Pick (7th Round) DE/OLB Derrek Tuszka (North Dakota State) – Denver Broncos

I am shocked that Tuszka lasted this long.  He was the MVFC defensive player of the year as a senior.  He is a great fit as a 3-4 OLB.  He is a disruptive pass rusher.  He shows good bend off the edge, nice hand usage and has a non-stop motor.
