DL Logan Swanson (Augustana University) Interview

Christopher Reiss: What are your measurements?

Logan Swanson: 6’2, 312lbs.

Christopher Reiss: During COVID-19, what have you been doing this offseason to prepare for the upcoming season?

Logan Swanson: I have been doing body weight workouts. Speed workout with other lineman. July 1st was the day the gym opened up.  

Christopher Reiss: When breaking down your film, what should stand out?

Logan Swanson: I am a constant aggressor. I will push my guy back every time. I am a very strike kind of guy.

Christopher Reiss: Coming out of high school, what schools show interest in you?

Logan Swanson: A bunch of FCS schools and Wyoming University. 

Christopher Reiss: In high school, what other positions did you play besides defensive line?

Logan Swanson: I played every position on the defensive line and also played every position on the offensive line too.

Christopher Reiss: In high school, what other sports did you play besides football?

Logan Swanson: Wresting and track and field.

Christopher Reiss: What are the expectations for your team for this upcoming season?

Logan Swanson: Expectations is not to just going to the playoffs like we did last year, but also win the entire conference.

Christopher Reiss: Is there anyone on your team that we should keep our eye out for this season?

Logan Swanson: S Eli Weber and WR Sean Engel.

Christopher Reiss: How would you describe your overall football career?

Logan Swanson: It has been a blast. I love the competition that college football brings. I just love the game.

Christopher Reiss: What is the highlight of your college football career?

Logan Swanson: The last drive that the other team had. They travel down 60-yards and they were in between field goal range, but they went for it on fourth down. I saw that the guard had his feet switch, I shot out of my stance. I went inside of the guard and ripped through. I got the sack that ended the game. It is a moment that I will never forget. It was versus our rivals too.

Christopher Reiss: What are some strengths of your game?

Logan Swanson: No pain, no game mentality. I take no plays off. Being the aggressor that I am. I am a very good leader. I lead by example. I will put the players in the right spot to make a play or I will make the play for my team. Very coachable.

Christopher Reiss: What are some assets of your game that you are trying to improve on?

Logan Swanson: I am always trying to work on my side to side moves. I working on the quick jab step. Working on spin moves.

Christopher Reiss: What do you enjoy most about football?

Logan Swanson: I love the brotherhood. I love everyone working towards a common goal. I love the game of football in general.

Christopher Reiss: What does life after football look like for you?

Logan Swanson: I would mostly be a teacher and a coach. I want to own a company. Now, I am a DJ.

Christopher Reiss: What or who motivates you?

Logan Swanson: I am motivated the most by deciding that if I am going to do something, I am going to give it my all. I love football and I love the process and improving my skills. I also love to learn. A person who has always motivated me has been my mom. Growing up, it was just her and I. She has always been supportive of any activity I do, and she has given me everything I needed in life to have a successful future. She also taught me to do things the right way which includes my work ethic on the field.

Christopher Reiss: Is there a player in the NFL that you look up to?

Logan Swanson: Aaron Donald because physically he is amazing. He tries to outsmart his opponents on every play, something that I try to do against my opponent.

Christopher Reiss: What is your favorite NFL team?

Logan Swanson: The Denver Broncos and the Minnesota Vikings.

Christopher Reiss: Who is your favorite football player of all-time?

Logan Swanson: C.J. Ham. He went to Augustana University. He comes back all the time to the university to help out and do things in the community.

Christopher Reiss: What are some hobbies of yours?

Logan Swanson: I am a DJ and love performing or making music. I like playing video games and board/card games with my friends.

Christopher Reiss: On game-day, who is your go-to artist?

Logan Swanson: Breaking Benjamin.
