Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Isaiah Chambers:  6’4, 250.    

Alex Khvatov:  How did you prepare for the 2020 season with no offseason training?

Isaiah Chambers:  I went back to my high school trainer in the North side of Houston.  He has a gym there, and I trained there. 

Alex Khvatov:  Besides football, what other sports did you play in high school?

Isaiah Chambers:  I briefly played basketball for one year.  I ran track for two years for exercise.  I ran 100m and 200m.   

Alex Khvatov:  What positions did you play in high school? 

Isaiah Chambers:  I played defensive end.     


Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Isaiah Chambers:  My top schools were TCU, Baylor, Texas A&M, and Texas. 

Alex Khvatov:  How did you wind up at TCU? 

Isaiah Chambers:  TCU was family-oriented.  They sent guys to the NFL.    

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you transfer to Houston? 

Isaiah Chambers:  My mom and father passed away.  My aunt took care of me.  She got sick at the time, and I had to go back home to be with her.   

Alex Khvatov:  Tell us about your career at Houston.        

Isaiah Chambers:  It was a good time. I got a chance to play.  I led the team in sacks.  I tore my meniscus the first year.  I played with Ed Oliver.  He a freak.  His work ethic is great.  He doesn’t stop.  He give 100% effort.   

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you decide to transfer to McNeese State for your final senior year? 

Isaiah Chambers:  Coming off an injury, we got a new coaching staff.  I was a third stringer last year.  Some games, I was moved to second string.  I still managed to get sacks.  I know that I could be a full-time starter somewhere else.    

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Isaiah Chambers:  I am a good pass rusher.  I apply pressure to the QB.  I am very good with my hands.    

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Isaiah Chambers:  Being more stout in the run game. 


Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Isaiah Chambers:  We played Tulsa this past year.  I had three sacks on 15 snaps.    

Alex Khvatov:  What is the biggest lesson that you have taken away from your coaching staff? 

Isaiah Chambers:  Distractions get you replaced.  Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola told us that when they talked to the team.      

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Isaiah Chambers:  I love Clowney and Myles Garrett.    

Alex Khvatov:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on for this upcoming season?

Isaiah Chambers:  DB Colby Burton and DE Mason Kinsey.    


Alex Khvatov:  Who is the best player that you have faced on an opposing team?

Isaiah Chambers:  Arizona QB Khalil Tate.    

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for a DL?

Isaiah Chambers:  Get off and having the will to not get blocked.    

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Isaiah Chambers:  Being able to go out there and beat up on someone.  It is a physical game.  You play for 60 minutes and then walk away.  It is a war zone for a little bit.    

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Isaiah Chambers:  I play the piano.  I also go on walks with my dog. 

Alex Khvatov:  What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Isaiah Chambers:  My major was in corporate communications and minor in sociology.  I have already graduated.  I want to be a sports analyst.    

Alex Khvatov:  What five words best describe you?

Isaiah Chambers:  Creative, hardworking, confident, ambitious, and reliable.
