Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Le’Vonte Larry:  I am 5’9, 186, and I ran a 4.38 last year.

Alex Khvatov:  How did you prepare for the 2020 season with no offseason training?

Le’Vonte Larry:  I worked out at Kennesaw State with Oliver Davis.  I learned a lot from him.  I have a friend in the NFL.  His name is Dee Virgin.  He plays special teams in Detroit.  I met up with him and spent some time training with him.  I bought a lot of equipment, so I can stay in shape.

Alex Khvatov:  Besides football, what other sports did you play in high school?

Le’Vonte Larry:  I ran track and played baseball.  I ran 100m and did the long jump.

Alex Khvatov:  What positions did you play in high school?

Le’Vonte Larry:  I played corner in ninth grade.  In 10th grade, I played safety and nickel.  They put me at LB my sophomore year for a couple of weeks.  Then I moved back to corner my junior and senior year.

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Le’Vonte Larry:  Coming out, I was getting most love from Middle Tennessee, but I had to go to their camp.  Georgia State and Kennesaw State gave me my first offer.  Bethune-Cookman offered me.

Alex Khvatov:  How did you wind up at UT-Chattanooga?

Le’Vonte Larry:  Chattanooga came and offered me.  They had won the SoCon conference three years in a row.  They sent lots of dudes to the NFL.  Their coach knew my high school coaches.  It was a nice place.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you transfer to a junior college?

Le’Vonte Larry:  I had off the field issues at Chattanooga.  I was found innocent.  I was going to a D-II school.  Then I realized that the JUCO route would be better.  I got academic all-conference and became an All-American.

Alex Khvatov:  How did you eventually wind up at Kennesaw State?

Le’Vonte Larry:  I should have gone to Kennesaw State out of high school.  I felt that this is the decision I should have made in the first place.  It was the right place for me at the time.

Alex Khvatov:  Tell us about your career at Kennesaw State.

Le’Vonte Larry:  Kennesaw was different.  They demanded a lot more out of their players, but I adapted to it.  I got a starting spot the week before the first game against Georgia State.  I liked it up there.  It was a family atmosphere.  Last year, I made the all-conference team.  I started off as a boundary CB my junior year.  I was in a rotation.  Then I got moved to outside CB.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you transfer to Valdosta State for your final campaign?

Le’Vonte Larry:  My D-I eligibility ran out, so I transferred to Valdosta State.  They have great training facilities and good medical people.  They have good resources and they have won a lot.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Le’Vonte Larry:  I am an aggressive corner.  I am a good tackler.  I get a lot of pass breakups.  My awareness and my knowledge for the game.  My technique is good.  I can blitz and show up in run support like a safety.  I have very good speed.
