Christopher Reiss: What are your measurements?
Jared Zieman: 6’4, 220lbs.
Christopher Reiss: During COVID-19, what have you been doing this offseason to prepare for the upcoming season?
Jared Zieman: I have an in home gym in my basement. I have been able to complete my teams’ workout program. I have always been doing speed and agility around 4-5 times a week.
Christopher Reiss: When breaking down your film, what should stand out?
Jared Zieman: The first thing you will see is my motor. I never take a play off and go hard to every whistle. I am extremely physical in the box and quick from sideline to sideline. One of my best qualities is stopping the run.
Christopher Reiss: Coming out of high school, what schools show interest in you?
Jared Zieman: I had some D-II schools that showed interested in me. I ended going to Becker College.
Christopher Reiss: In high school, what other positions did you play besides linebacker?
Jared Zieman: I was a utility guy on offense.
Christopher Reiss: In high school, what other sports did you play besides football?
Jared Zieman: I played some lacrosse and baseball.
Christopher Reiss: What are the expectations for your team for this upcoming season?
Jared Zieman: We have a bunch of key players who are seniors returning this year. We were hot in the beginning of last season. We want to keep that going and have a chance to go to the playoffs and compete for the Championship.
Christopher Reiss: Is there anyone at Becker College that we should keep our eye out for this season?
Jared Zieman: Taizon Barrett.
Christopher Reiss: How would you describe your overall career?
Jared Zieman: My freshman year, I started the season. That same season I tore my ACL. I had to work to get back where I am today. I have been able to lead my team in tackles for the last couple of seasons.
Christopher Reiss: What is the highlight of your college football career?
Jared Zieman: Against Worcester State, I had 12 tackles and a sack. We held them to 10 points. We ended up beating them.
Christopher Reiss: What are some strengths of your game?
Jared Zieman: Passion for the game, my football IQ, and I am a film room junky. My best strength would be my tackling.
Christopher Reiss: What are some assets of your game that you are trying to improve on?
Jared Zieman: I have been working on my cover skills at the linebacker position. If I can get that done, it will take my game to a whole new level.
Christopher Reiss: What do you enjoy most about football?
Jared Zieman: I really do enjoy being around my teammates. At Becker, we have a family vibe to it. We are always doing things with each other, I just love it.
Christopher Reiss: What are you majoring in?
Jared Zieman: I am majoring in business with a concentration in sports management.
Christopher Reiss: What does life after football look like for you?
Jared Zieman: If I do not make it in football, I want to be able to work with professional athletes as an agent, coach, and scout would be a dream job of mine.
Christopher Reiss: What or who motivates you?
Jared Zieman: I just want to be successful. I mentioned earlier that it is a goal of mine to win a championship and I am willing to do whatever it takes to help my team win games. My parents and my friends are very supportive of what I do. They want the best for me and I cannot thank them enough.
Christopher Reiss: Is there a player in the NFL that you look up to?
Jared Zieman: I like to compare myself to Jaylon Smith of the Dallas Cowboys.
Christopher Reiss: What is your favorite football team?
Jared Zieman: College – Notre Dame and NFL – New York Giants.
Christopher Reiss: Who is your favorite football player of all-time?
Jared Zieman: Luke Kuechly.
Christopher Reiss: What are some hobbies of yours?
Jared Zieman: Outside of football and weightlifting, I love to be outdoors. Fishing is probably my biggest hobby. Whenever I have some free time, I also like to play video games.
