Player Report – CFB Week 15

Player Report – Week 15

Senior WR Jaelon Darden (North Texas)

Darden finds himself on this list for the second straight week.  He caught eight receptions for 173 yards and scored four TD’s in a win against UTEP.  He is a slot receiver who is very dangerous after the catch and is elusive in the open field.  He took a short slant route 75 yards to the house.  He also displayed his terrific speed on the deep ball for the TD.  He is only 5’9, 174 pounds, but I expect him to get his name called somewhere in the third round.

Senior WR Dillon Stoner (Oklahoma State)

He has been quiet during his senior season until this game against Baylor.  With Tylan Wallace out, he was the go-to-guy this past Saturday.  Stoner (6’0, 200 pounds) had eight receptions for 247 yards and scored three TD’s all in the first half.  He lined up outside as the Z receiver.  He showed the ability to make contested catches in traffic.  He displayed his strong, reliable hands and precise route running ability.  He excels on those double moves.

Senior RB Michael Carter (UNC)

UNC scored 62 points in the win against the Hurricanes.  The Tar Heels rushing attack ran wild.  A major reason for the success on the ground was the play of senior RB Michael Carter.  He gained 308 yards on 24 carries, averaged 12.8 yards per carry and scored two TD’s.  His speed, quickness and athleticism were on full display.  He can easily bounce the play outside.  He made defenders look silly in space.  His elusiveness and cutback ability in the open field is outstanding.  He is a versatile back.  He also runs good routes and shows soft hands.  Coming into this game, he was a very underrated back.  The secret is out.  After this performance, his stock is skyrocketing.

Junior TE Brevin Jordan (Miami, FL)

Jordan has been dealing with injuries during his junior year.  He had that breakout game in a loss against North Carolina.  He caught six receptions for 140 yards and scored a TD.  He is a weapon for the Hurricanes whenever he is in the lineup.  He is an athletic TE with very good speed and athleticism.  He can be a vertical threat and can also get yards after the catch.  On a 76-yard TD play, he ran a precise route and beat the defender who was matched up against him in man coverage.  He faked like he was running an out route, but instead broke inside and took it all the way to the house.  This is going to be a very strong TE class assuming that a few of these talented underclassmen enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
