-has a history of injuries

-redshirt junior

-three-star prospect

-asked to play a lot of zone

-likes to play off man more than press coverage

-is effective in press coverage

-his awareness is good, but not great

-needs more physicality

-opens his hips too early trying to anticipate the route

-there are questions about speed, but is still in the 4.5 range

-played a lot of off man coverage or zone in the Gamecocks defense

-seems like he needs to be sharper about knowing the defense

-looks good in man coverage

-disciplined in zone

-plays not to get beat deep

Asante Samuel Jr, CB, Florida State

-Junior

-father played in the NFL

-played all three years for the Seminoles

-projects as a slot corner in the NFL

-stays in phase in coverage very well

-decent physicality at the line of scrimmage

-his agility is excellent

-could have a little less cushion in man coverage

-played all four years at Oklahoma

-projects more as a slot guy in the NFL

-stays in phase in coverage well

-needs to get off blocks better in the run game

-can sometimes lock arms with receivers. Needs to avoid holding calls

-sometimes opens his hips up too early when the play is actually a run

-I still think he has good physicality at the line of scrimmage.

Ambry Thomas, CB, Michigan

-didn’t play his senior year because he declared early for the draft

-borderline 4.4 speed. Could be a special teams’ contributor

-kick returner

-stays in phase well

-could have a bit better footspeed

-plays press coverage

-average physicality at the line of scrimmage

-gets off blocks decently in the run game

-4-year player for the Golden Bears

-2nd team all-Pac 12 in 2019

-good tackler

-used in the slot

-has some balance issues getting into his backpedal
