Ed Hunt: What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?
Eric Burrell: On the 40 time, it’s a lot faster than people think and height is 6 feet, 200lbs.
Ed Hunt: What did you get your master’s degree in?
Eric Burrell: Education Leadership Policy and Analysis.
Ed Hunt: What can you add on special teams?
Eric Burrell: Everything. I was on all four phases. I played all of them. In high school and college, I played on all of them.
Ed Hunt: Where are you currently training for the draft?
Eric Burrell: XPE in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Ed Hunt: Besides football, what other sports did you play in high school?
Eric Burrell: I ran track and played a little bit of basketball.
Ed Hunt: What positions did you play in high school?
Eric Burrell: Safety and slot receiver.
Ed Hunt: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?
Eric Burrell: I had 24 scholarships coming out of college. It was mainly the ACC and the Big 10.

Ed Hunt: How would you sum up your career at Wisconsin?
Eric Burrell: I think I had a great career. I took care of two degrees and football took care of itself. I’m definitely proud of being a Badger alum.
Ed Hunt: What are your strengths?
Eric Burrell:I’m a physical guy on defense. I have great football IQ. I try to put myself in the best position possible.
Ed Hunt: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Eric Burrell: There’s always things that you can always improve on. There is nothing dramatic I need to change. Some people think we can’t cover, but I haven’t been in position to cover. I can definitely cover. Just having to grow from the game.
Ed Hunt: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Eric Burrell: I’m the first person in my family to make it this far. The only thing I missed is not making it to the playoffs. I learned a lot in the 4.5 years. It was a great, surreal experience for me.
Ed Hunt: What is your favorite NFL team?
Eric Burrell: It was the Steelers growing up.
Ed Hunt: Is there an NFL safety that you like to watch film on?
Eric Burrell: Jamal Adams.
Ed Hunt: What underclassmen on your team should we keep an eye out for next season?
Eric Burrell: I’m not really sure honestly. I think Wisconsin has a lot of guys that have good tape but aren’t known. I would definitely say Nick Herbig. But there are a lot of guys who will step up.
Ed Hunt: Which quarterback was your toughest matchup throughout your career?
Eric Burrell: I really liked Nate Stanley from Iowa. I think he has a tough QB style. That would be one guy I really enjoyed playing against.
Ed Hunt: What is the most important trait for a safety?
Eric Burrell: Just recognizing the game. Just being the QB of the defense.
Ed Hunt: What do you enjoy most about football?
Eric Burrell: Just going out there and competing. Just to go out there and try to have fun. You can definitely get exposed if you are 1 on 11.
Ed Hunt: How has this journey of perseverance made you stronger?
Eric Burrell: Honestly, a lot of things that were thrown at me in college. I just continue and try to build off of it.
Ed Hunt: What are your hobbies?
Eric Burrell: I like going on boats. I like bowling. I like playing card games. Those are the three things I like doing outside of football.
Ed Hunt: What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?
Eric Burrell: I got my undergrad in personal finance. I would like to be in personal finance. I also want to give back to my home city and coach as well.
Ed Hunt: What makes you unique?
Eric Burrell: I’m like a lot of guys. I’m very personable. I like to meet people and just introduce myself. I like to be myself. I’m very fashionable. Just being out there and being who I am.
Ed Hunt: What five words best describe you?
Eric Burrell:Intelligent, caring, charismatic, outgoing and humorous.
