RB Stevie Scott III (Indiana) Interview - NFL Draft Blitz

RB Stevie Scott III (Indiana) Interview

Stevie Scott III Interview

RB, Indiana

Ed Hunt:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Stevie Scott:  I haven’t run a 40 yet. My height is 6’1 and about 227.

Ed Hunt:  Tell me about the Ohio State game this past year.

Stevie Scott:  We just came off slow in the first half and picked it up in the second half, but we fell short against a good Ohio State team.

Ed Hunt:  Talk to me about the things you have overcome to get here.

Stevie Scott:  Really just getting through. In middle school, I went to Catholic school. Just adjusting from there. Fracturing my ankle, I didn’t get to play my senior season of high school. I really liked playing linebacker a lot. Just being able to hit people. I like delivering the first blow. Definitely grateful and blessed to be for this opportunity now.

Ed Hunt:  Where are you currently training for the draft?

Stevie Scott:  I’m training in Boca Raton, FL.

Ed Hunt:  Besides football, what other sports did you play in high school?

Stevie Scott:  I played basketball my freshman year and I played my junior year. Not too serious.

Ed Hunt:  What positions did you play in high school?

Stevie Scott:  Running back and linebacker.

Ed Hunt:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Stevie Scott:  I committed to Indiana.

Ed Hunt:  How would you sum up your career at Indiana?

Stevie Scott:  It was a great three years. We bounced back the last few years. Look at all those games we won and how hard we fought. I built a lot of relationships and that will last a lifetime. Just being able to go away from my hometown. Just being able to play for them. Just blessed to be in that situation.

Ed Hunt:  What are your strengths?

Stevie Scott: I’m able to be a receiver out the backfield, I can run people over, and have great breakaway speed. I can run in between the tackles. I think I am an all-around back.

Ed Hunt:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Stevie Scott:  Honestly just keeping a 45-degree angle when I go through the hole and make the second level defender miss.

Ed Hunt:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Stevie Scott:  Being able to declare for the NFL draft. Being able to make it this far.

Ed Hunt:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Stevie Scott:  Pittsburgh Steelers. I grew up a Giants fan because of my dad, but now it is the Steelers.

Ed Hunt:  Is there an NFL running back that you like to watch film on?

Stevie Scott:  I used to watch a lot of film on Le’Veon Bell and Leonard Fournette.

Ed Hunt:  What underclassmen on your team should we keep an eye out for next season?

Stevie Scott:  Jacolby Hewitt, Tim Baldwin, and Sampson James. There’s a lot of playmakers on the offense.

Ed Hunt:  Which linebacker was your toughest matchup throughout your career?

Stevie Scott:  Micah Parsons. He is definitely a Top 5 or a Top 10 draft pick.

Ed Hunt:  What is the most important trait for a running back?

Stevie Scott:  Vision.

Ed Hunt:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Stevie Scott:  Winning with my teammates. Locker room atmosphere.

Ed Hunt:  How has this journey of perseverance made you stronger?

Stevie Scott:  It just shows me anything is possible if you put your mind to it and it is pushing me to greatness.

Ed Hunt:  What are your hobbies?

Stevie Scott:  Play video games, watch Netflix, and hanging out with friends and teammates, but nothing too serious.

Ed Hunt:  What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Stevie Scott:  Help the community and give back to the kids. Just fixing up this whole entire world and change other people’s lives. That’s something I want to accomplish.

Ed Hunt:  What makes you unique?

Stevie Scott:  My character.

Ed Hunt:  What five words best describe you?

Stevie Scott:  Goofy, intelligent, caring, loving, and supportive.
