Rondale Moore – Wide Receiver – Purdue

Ed Hunt: What is your official height, weight and 40 time?

Rondale Moore: 5’7, 181 and the 40 time was a 4.29.

Ed Hunt: How did you get to the point of having a 42-inch vertical?

Rondale Moore: Training is the basis of it and I’ve got some God given abilities. Training has been a huge part of it for me.

Ed Hunt: What is your weight training regiment like to do 24 reps on the bench?

Rondale Moore: God given ability and I would really just workout 3 times per week. I’ve had some strength coming out of college.

Ed Hunt: What did you take away from your Pro Day?

Rondale Moore:It was exciting. It was cool to see your dreams come full circle.

Ed Hunt: What was it like playing against Ohio State in the Big 10?

Rondale Moore: It was fun. A lot of competition. We came away with the upset. For Tyler Trent, for him to be supporting us that night is even a greater feeling.

Ed Hunt: How did you put up such big numbers as a true freshman?

Rondale Moore: I’ve been surrounded by some great people. It was just getting over the curve of just doing it. Putting your playbook first. Andrew Coverdale and Chris Vaughn were my coaches in high school who really helped.

Ed Hunt: Where are you currently training for the draft?

Rondale Moore: I was in Frisco, Texas, but I will be at Aspirations Gym in Louisville, Kentucky and the trainer is Chris Vaughn.

Ed Hunt: Besides football, what other sports did you play in high school?

Rondale Moore: I ran track and played basketball. That was it.

Ed Hunt: What positions did you play in high school? 

Rondale Moore: I played QB my freshman year, RB my sophomore year and then transitioned to WR my junior year.


Ed Hunt: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Rondale Moore: I pretty much had everyone. When I committed, I had Alabama, Ohio State and of course Purdue.

Ed Hunt: How would you sum up your career at Purdue? 

Rondale Moore: Amazing! On and off the field. It’s prepared me to have a career in the NFL. I’ve grown a tremendous amount. I got my degree in two and half years.

Ed Hunt: What are your strengths?

Rondale Moore: I think my strengths are I am strong, instinctive, smart and fast.

Ed Hunt: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Rondale Moore: I think for me it is important to sharpen up every route. I want to work on my craft and sharpen up my toolbox.


Ed Hunt: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Rondale Moore: Beating Ohio State in 2018.

Ed Hunt: Is there an NFL wide receiver that you like to watch film on?

Rondale Moore: Yeah, I think Cooper Kupp, Cole Beasley, Kennan Allen, Calvin Ridley and Julio could be in the conversation. That is just a few.

Ed Hunt: What underclassmen on your team should we keep an eye out for next season?

Rondale Moore: Cory Trice, David Bell and George Karlaftis.


Ed Hunt: Which cornerback was your toughest matchup throughout your career?

Rondale Moore: Jeff Gladney from TCU was pretty good.

Ed Hunt: What is the most important trait for a wide receiver?

Rondale Moore: Toughness in my opinion.

Ed Hunt: What do you enjoy most about football?

Rondale Moore: Winning.

Ed Hunt: How has this journey of perseverance made you stronger such as overcoming the injury you had?

Rondale Moore: The importance of taking care of yourself and getting the right sleep. The small things. Everything you think matters, matters. Just all the small things in your development as a player.

Ed Hunt: What are your hobbies?

Rondale Moore: Video games and chilling with my family and friends honestly.

Ed Hunt: What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Rondale Moore: Hopefully I play 11-12 years in the NFL. Have a kid and be on the beach somewhere and in commercial real estate. Enjoy it with my family and friends.

Ed Hunt: What makes you unique?

Rondale Moore: My versatility, my strength, power, intelligence and how savvy I am. Also my will to learn.

Ed Hunt: What five words best describe you?

Rondale Moore: Perfectionist, driven, humble, tough, and genuine.
