Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Josh Jenkins:  I am 6’3, 301 and I ran a 5.28 forty.

Alex Khvatov:  When you were coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Josh Jenkins:  I had offers from almost every school in the country.  My final three schools were Ohio State, Florida State and West Virginia.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose West Virginia?

Josh Jenkins:  I was raised in West Virginia.  The people were good to me in the state of West Virginia.  I felt like it would be better for me to stay here and help my home state.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your career at West Virginia.

Josh Jenkins:  I had a pretty solid career at West Virginia.  It would have been a lot better if I wouldn’t have caught a couple of knee injuries.  West Virginia was a good overall experience for me, and I had a good career.  I started a lot of games there.  I think that I started like 40 games over my career.  It was a successful career.

Alex Khvatov:  West Virginia won the first five games of the 2012 season, but finished the year with a 7-6 record.  What happened to the team in the second half of the season?

Josh Jenkins:  There are a lot of different things that happened.  I just think that we weren’t clicking the way we should have been at that point.  We weren’t being a team that we should have been on and off the field.  It just caught up with us.  I don’t think that we executed the way we should have on both sides of the field.  We just got complacent.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths on the football field?

Josh Jenkins:  I can move side to side really well.  My pass protection is pretty good.  I am more of a zone guy.  That is my scheme.  I can reach people and get to the outside shoulder.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game do you need to improve upon?

Josh Jenkins:  I need to work on my overall strength.  Leg strength is more important.  I am working on being a smarter football player.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career at West Virginia?

Josh Jenkins:  The most fun I had was when we played against Oklahoma at home.  Tavon Austin was running everywhere on them.  We put up like 600 yards of rushing.  We just felt good as an offensive line because we were doing our job.  He was running everywhere on Oklahoma.  It is the most rushing yards that anyone has ever put on them.  It was definitely a highlight for me.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Josh Jenkins:  I don’t have a favorite team.  I like different players.  I respect different players.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Josh Jenkins:  I like center Maurkice Pouncey from the Steelers.  I loved watching Jeff Saturday play.  I like watching Michael Oher play.

Alex Khvatov:  Tell me about your teammate WR Tavon Austin.

Josh Jenkins:  He is an electrifying player.  There is no doubt it.  He is one of the best athletes that I have been around.  He is a good guy.  He is funny and outgoing.  He is a team guy.  He is a good guy to be around.

Alex Khvatov:  What can you tell us about QB Geno Smith?

Josh Jenkins:  Those are my friends outside of football.  I know them pretty well.  Geno is a good leader.  He is a fiery guy.  He is so confident in his offensive line since I have been blocking for him.  He trusts you.  He treats you right.  He wants everyone to be good.  A lot of teams would be happy to get him.  He has great leadership.  Off the field, he is a good guy.  He is laid back.  He is an artist.  He is a cool character.

Alex Khvatov:  What will you miss the most about West Virginia?

Josh Jenkins:  I will miss game day and the whole environment.  I will also miss my teammates.  There is nothing like game day anywhere else unless you are at West Virginia.  The fans and the students are crazy.  We build a bond with your teammates.  You become a family.

Alex Khvatov:  What separates you from all of the other players at your position in this draft?

Josh Jenkins:  I am smart on the football field.  I see myself being a little more athletic than a lot of the offensive linemen.  I attack my assignments.

Alex Khvatov:  Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?

Josh Jenkins:  At first, I was training in San Francisco for like six weeks.  Now I am back in Charleston, West Virginia where my brother lives.  I have been training here two times a day.  I plan on going back to Morgantown to train there for a few weeks.

Alex Khvatov:  Were you satisfied with your Pro Day results?

Josh Jenkins:  I had a good day.  I feel like I had a really solid day in the offensive line drills.  I wish I could have put up a few more reps on the bench and maybe I ran a faster forty.  I wish my start in the forty would have been better.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the feedback that you have received from scouts and coaches?

Josh Jenkins:  I think a lot of them are saying that they like the way I play.  They like the fact that I am athletic.  But they are worried about my past knee injuries.  It has some teams worried.

Alex Khvatov:  How do you respond to teams that have questions about your knee?

Josh Jenkins:  I just tell them that hopefully someone will give me a chance to go to camp.  I will show that my durability and my knee are fine.  I can play on it.

Alex Khvatov:  Why do you want to become an NFL player?  Why is this so important to you?

Josh Jenkins:  I love the game of football.  The game of football is something special.  I want to continue to play until my body won’t allow me to do it anymore.  I am young and I still have a lot of football in me.  Football is something that runs in my family.  I love the process of getting ready for the games.  I love to practice and do film work.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the coolest thing that you have gotten to do during this draft process?

Josh Jenkins:  Going to San Francisco and training with a bunch of different guys from other schools was a great experience.  I got to see how other guys work.  You get to interact with the other guys.  You get to see their outlook on things.

Alex Khvatov:  Who were the toughest opposing players that you have gone up against in college?

Josh Jenkins:  I played against Jason Pierre-Paul when he was at South Florida.  There was a bunch of good players in the Big 12 last season.  The defensive tackles at TCU were pretty good.  Texas had a good defensive line.  I played against a lot of tough players.

Alex Khvatov:  Which underclassman on your team should we keep an eye on in the future?

Josh Jenkins:  Quinton Spain.  He played beside me at LT.  He is a big kid.  He is about 6’6, 320.  He can be as good as he wants to be.  He has a good football IQ.  I think that the sky is the limit for him.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Josh Jenkins:  I really like to hang out with my family.  I got three brothers.  We are all pretty close.  I like to play video games.  I like to eat.  I am an offensive lineman.  I listen to music.  I love music.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite artist?

Josh Jenkins:  My favorite artists are Meek Mill and Rick Ross right now.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Josh Jenkins is….

Josh Jenkins:  A personal guy that will work hard and play hard.  I will be a role model for people.
