Alex Khvatov:  Describe your experience at the 2013 Shrine Game so far.

Josh Johnson:  It has been a very thrilling experience.  I have been going against some very talented players.  We have guys from different areas like ACC and SEC.  I love competition.  I love coming out, learning something new every day and getting better.

Alex Khvatov:  What has been your most memorable moment here?

Josh Johnson:  Lining up with different guys on defense and learning the new terminology.  Learn from the other guys and step up your game to another level.

Alex Khvatov:  Which wide receiver from the East squad has been the toughest match-up for you?

Josh Johnson:  I feel like all of them have done a great job.  They all have their advantages.  They all do a great job running their routes.  They are great.

Alex Khvatov:  Which guys have you bonded with?

Josh Johnson:  I talk to a lot of them.  I am very close to a lot of them.  Melvin White (CB from LA-Lafayette), Branden Smith (CB from Georgia), Josh (Evans, S from Florida) and Kayvon (Webster, CB from South Florida).

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Josh Johnson:  Being aggressive.  I am always trying to get inside the other guy’s head.  I am not just some guy that they can push around.  I love to compete.  I am going to get after you.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game have you been trying to improve upon this week?

Josh Johnson:  Cleaning up my footwork and coming out of my breaks.  If I see a read, I need to just attack it.  I am just working on my technique.

Alex Khvatov:  Have you enjoyed returning kicks here?

Josh Johnson:  I am very healthy now.  It is giving me an opportunity to show my versatility.  I like having the ball in my hands.  I like making guys miss and trying to get a touchdown.

Alex Khvatov:  Tell me about your career at Purdue.

Josh Johnson:  I feel like it was successful.  Our senior season didn’t go exactly how we wanted.  But seniors had the chance to get to a bowl game.  I had a great season.  At the end of the day, there are always missed opportunities, but I am blessed to be here.  I want to thank the man upstairs, my parents and Purdue.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Josh Johnson:  I like to listen to music and ball with my little brothers.  I talk to them a lot.  I got young kids texting me and writing to me on facebook and asking me questions about being at a big college.  I like to give them feedback.  I like giving back to the community and helping kids.

Alex Khvatov:  Where are you training for the NFL Draft?

Josh Johnson:  St. Vincent’s down in Indianapolis.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Josh Johnson is….

Josh Johnson:  As a football player, I am a very aggressive guy.  I am a go-getter.  Off-the-field, I am very caring and a people person.
