Alex Khvatov: What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: My best forty time this spring was a 4.52. I am 5’11” and 187 pounds right now.

Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: A lot of local schools around Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech, Richmond and Nicholls State. I really wanted to go to LSU, but it didn’t happen for me.

Alex Khvatov: Why did you choose Southern Illinois?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: It was just a different opportunity. The DB coach who was also a recruiting coordinator laid it all out for me. He provided me with a different opportunity. I decided to venture away from home. So I ended up here.

Alex Khvatov: Describe your junior season to us.

Korey Lindsey-Woods: I was really optimistic. I wanted to get off to a good start. I had a different role. The team needed more stability at corner. I had to step up my game and fulfill a role. I kept on playing and getting better every week. It was an optimistic situation.

Alex Khvatov: What are your expectations for this upcoming senior season?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: We definitely need to get over the hump and go deeper into the playoffs. We lost in the second round last year. My teammates and I want to win the conference and get to the National Championship Game.

Alex Khvatov: What will be the toughest game for you this year?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: Every game is tough. We were voted preseason #1. Teams will challenge us. We need to come out and bring our A game.

Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: My first interception for a touchdown my sophomore year. From that moment on, I began to understand my position better.

Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths on the football field?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: My instincts and football knowledge. I have been playing this game since I have been six years old. I have a knack for playing football.

Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game do you need to improve upon?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: Work on using my hands better. I need to get better at getting off blocks.

Alex Khvatov: What do you bring to the table that other corners might be lacking in?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: Just my overall mind set. I want to dominate every play. I feel that I am plus one against the receiver. I have the motor for just wanting to win.

Alex Khvatov: Which underclassmen on your team should we keep an eye on in the future?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: Right now, we have a lot of freshmen on the team. There is one true freshman in particular. His name is Terrell Wilson. He is 6’2 corner and he has all of the athletic ability in the world. I am trying to help him develop. I want to pass some of my knowledge to him.

Alex Khvatov: Which NFL player would you compare your game to?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: I like Darrelle Revis. He plays with his hands and uses them well. He is a complete corner. I look up to him. I model my game after him.

Alex Khvatov: What is your favorite NFL team?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: The New Orleans Saints since I am from Baton Rouge.

Alex Khvatov: What is the one thing in your daily life that you can’t live without?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: My daughter. She is two years old.

Alex Khvatov: How has fatherhood changed you?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: It made me more focused. I visualize the big picture. I make these days count. I am missing so much precious time from all of my family and friends back home. I take everything in perspective and keep pushing.

Alex Khvatov: If you could have dinner with anyone out there, who would it be and why?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: I would have to say my mom. I missed a lot of time being away from her since I have been in college. We have a great relationship.

Alex Khvatov: What are your hobbies?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: I like to travel. I like to watch sports and hang out with friends.

Alex Khvatov: What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Korey Lindsey-Woods: I want to coach in Baton Rouge, Louisiana or work for a sports agency. I want to be involved around sports somehow.

Korey Lindsey-Woods: Proud, passionate, respectful and loyal to loved ones.
