Alex Khvatov:  Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?

Tom Greene:  Blaze Performance in West Mifflin, PA.  It is close to Pittsburgh.

Alex Khvatov:  What can we expect from you at the Pro Day?

Tom Greene:  It will be a Conference wide pro day.  All of the players from our conference will participate on March 12th.  It is something new this year.  It will be in Pittsburgh at an indoor arena.  I want to show them what I have been working on.  I want to showcase my speed, strength and do the on the field workout.

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Tom Greene:  I always played QB.  Before my junior year, I switched to WR at Woodland Hills high school.  I exceeded everybody’s expectations my senior year.  I had 50 or 60 catches for over 800 yards.  I went to camps at Michigan State and Pitt.  I tore it up at those passing camps.  But there was no real offer. After the season, I got a call from Rutgers.  They wanted me to play TE.  I talked to them, but nothing ever panned out.  My grades held me back.  I graduated with a 1.9 GPA.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose Cal of PA?

Tom Greene:  I went to a community college for a year to get my grades up.  I also worked for a year.  I didn’t play football.  I went to Cal of PA next summer.  Coaches at Cal of PA saved me and helped me get out of the situation.  I didn’t know if I wanted to keep playing football.  They stuck with me and offered me.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall career.

Tom Greene:  I didn’t want to redshirt my freshman year.  Special teams helped me get on the field.  I was able to adjust to the college lifestyle.  I kept playing on special teams during my sophomore year.    I got my shot my junior year.  I played next to WR Garry Brown.  I had about 50 catches for 700 yards my junior year.  I knew that my senior year, I will be used more in the passing game.  I had 1,040 receiving yards, 64 catches and six TD’s.  I was Second Team All-PSAC.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Tom Greene:  Catch the ball.  My catch radius is impressive.  I am a possession receiver who knows how to come down with the ball.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Tom Greene:  My speed.  I am working on getting my 40 time down.  I also need to get in and out of breaks quicker.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Tom Greene:  He would have to be the game against Gannon this past year.  I had 202 receiving yards and two TD’s on nine catches. It was a fun game against Gannon this year.  Another highlight is winning the PSAC championship my junior year.  It was a great season.  I loved playing with the guys.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is the best teammate that you played with?

Tom Greene:  Jawan Turner.  We grew up in the same area.  We know each other so well.  He was fun to play with.  He makes me a better person.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Tom Greene:  Pittsburgh Steelers.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Tom Greene:  Hines Ward.  He was not the fastest or the strongest WR, but he was fun to watch.  He has a great attitude and a great people’s person.  I met him personally.  He was aggressive and a terrific possession WR.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for a WR?

Tom Greene:  You have to be smart and also has to catch the ball well.

Alex Khvatov:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?

Tom Greene:  RB Jalen Bell.  He is Le’Veon Bell’s cousin.  CB Brendan Edwards is small, but feisty.  He is a great ballhawk.  OG Brenden Babstibner.

Alex Khvatov:  How would you describe your teammate CB Vondel Bell?

Tom Greene:  He is the best corner in our conference.  He has long arms.  He helped me get my technique down.  He made me a better receiver.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is the best player that you have faced during your career?

Tom Greene:  The best player was #16 CB from Shepherd (Adam Coles).  He was a senior when I was a junior.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Tom Greene:  The preparation.  Getting your mind right on Friday night before the game.  Football helped me to stay away from trouble.

Alex Khvatov:  You grew up in a tough neighborhood, how were you able to overcome it?

Tom Greene:  You realize what not to do.  You mind your business.  I wanted to get away from the streets.  I am blessed to make it this far.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Tom Greene:  I like to go out to eat.  I hang out with my family and friends.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Tom Greene:  I started my own clothing line on my birthday on November 8th, 2016.  It is big in the Pittsburgh area.  It takes me away from everything.  We sell hoodies, shirts and leggings.  I am working on the spring line right now.  I also do interviews with singers, rappers and photographers that help promote my clothing line.  I am also into food and cooking.  I want to start my own restaurant someday.

Alex Khvatov:  Finish the sentence, Tom Greene is….

Tom Greene:  A laid back, chill dude.  I have been through a lot.  I love the game of football, but it doesn’t define who I am.  Football saved me, and I have a lot of respect for the game.  But I am bigger than football.
