Alex Khvatov: What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?
David Akere: 6’1, 210, 4.5 forty.
Alex Khvatov: Where were you training for the NFL Draft?
David Akere: I trained at Perfect Performance in Tysons Corner, Virginia.
Alex Khvatov: Were you satisfied with your overall Pro Day results?
David Akere: No, not at all. I feel like I could always perform better in everything.
Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?
David Akere: I had a lot of interest from Ivy League Schools and smaller D-I schools in the south and around Texas.
Alex Khvatov: Why did you choose Georgetown?
David Akere: I chose Georgetown because it is a D-I team where I had an opportunity to play immediately, set records and become a leader.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall career.
David Akere: I finished my career with over 270 tackles, eight picks and six forced fumbles. I was a two-time captain and was awarded the Number 35 Joe Eacobacci Award my senior year. I feel like I’ve gotten much better over these years, and I’m getting even better every day.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
David Akere: I’m a highly intelligent player who sees plays before they happen and then finish them violently. I am a consistent tackler and agile defender in coverage. I am a natural leader. I love playing the game of football more than anything.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
David Akere: I am trying to improve upon making even more turnovers and getting my hands on the ball more often.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
David Akere: The highlight of my career was our Homecoming game my junior year when I had a pick, eleven tackles, and several big hits against Columbia University.
Alex Khvatov: What is your favorite NFL team?
David Akere: My favorite NFL team is the Dallas Cowboys!
Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?
David Akere: My favorite player is Jamal Adams, that’s my brother since grade school.
Alex Khvatov: What is the most important trait for a safety?
David Akere: The most important trait for a safety is to be relentless. It’s necessary to be constantly fearless and violent.
Alex Khvatov: What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?
David Akere: Safeties Blaise Brown and Jethro Francois, wideout Michael Dereus and DL Duval Paul.
Alex Khvatov: Who is the best player that you have faced during your career?
David Akere: Chase Edmonds, the Running Back from Fordham University. He’s going to tear the league up.
Alex Khvatov: What do you enjoy most about football?
David Akere: I enjoy winning, but most importantly I enjoy experiencing my hard work pay off when I make an incredible play and get the hype.
Alex Khvatov: What are your hobbies?
David Akere: I like playing football, reading, writing and talking to girls.
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?
David Akere: I want to go to law school and continue a football career from behind the scenes.
