2018 NFL Draft
DAY 2
BEST PICKS
41st Overall Pick, 2nd Round
DE/LB Harold Landry (Boston College) – Tennessee Titans
The Titans traded their second round (57th overall) and third round (89th overall) picks in order to move up to this selection. Landry was too hard to pass up after he fell out of the first round. Mike Vrabel had to add another pass rusher for the 3-4 defense. Landry has an explosive first step and displays great quickness off the edge.
47th Overall Pick, 2nd Round
WR Christian Kirk (Texas A&M) – Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals needed to find another weapon in the passing game for QB Josh Rosen. Kirk certainly fits the bill. He is a well-built slot receiver with good hands. He runs precise routes and has a knack for getting open. He has outstanding intangibles. He will also help in the return game.
59th Overall Pick, 2nd Round
RB Derrius Guice (LSU) – Washington Redskins
He has first round talent. But a lot of teams were staying away from him because of some character concerns. I believe those teams will regret that decision down the road. Guice lands in a perfect situation. He should become an opening day starter. He is a physical, downhill RB that runs with good pad level and breaks a lot of tackles. He makes great cuts and displays good vision.
63rd Overall Pick, 2nd Round
CB Carlton Davis (Auburn) – Tampa Bay Bucs
One of my top corners in this draft. He has very good size and long arms. He is the best press corner in this entire draft. He is a physical guy who disrupts receivers timing at the line of scrimmage. He sticks to receivers like glue. Sometimes, he is a little too aggressive.
78th Overall Pick, 3rd Round
LB Malik Jefferson (Texas) – Cincinnati Bengals
This is a steal for the Bengals. He finally came into his own and had a great junior year. He is an ascending player with upside. Jefferson is a great athlete with terrific speed. He is a good tackler and he hits with a lot of force. He needs to continue to develop his instincts. He is a starter at weak-side LB.
99th Overall Pick, 3rd Round
CB Isaac Yiadom (Boston College) – Denver Broncos
This is a good value pick by the Broncos at the end of the third round. Yiadom has good length and long arms. He is aggressive and is very good in run support. He excels in off man and zone coverage. He displays good instincts and awareness.
