Kendrick Igbinoba – Fullback – Adams State
Alex Khvatov: What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?
Kendrick Igbinoba: Height is 6 5/8, 259 and 4.5.
Alex Khvatov: Where will you be training for the NFL Draft?
Kendrick Igbinoba: Some agents have talked to me. It would probably be in Florida.
Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in
you?
Kendrick Igbinoba: I had some FBS offers. I had Oregon State, Arkansas and Mississippi State. Florida came to my classroom and talked to me. I wanted to go to Oregon State, but my GPA was pretty low. I couldn’t play my senior year of high school. I only played in three games due to grades. Most schools pulled their offers. Mississippi State tried to wait for me.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Kendrick Igbinoba: I run pretty good, block pretty well and catch. I am a team player. I am a versatile player.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Kendrick Igbinoba: At the National Bowl, I realized that I need to work on the one on one’s. I need to get off the ball, run routes and get better releases.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall career.
Kendrick Igbinoba: I went to New Mexico Military Institute. It is a community college. The school produced a lot of great players. I started at H-Back. I was immature. I didn’t like being at a military school at that time. I went to Blynn College. I was an H-back and a RB. I had to sit out because they had too many transfers. I had some D-I schools offering me, but I had 2.2 GPA. Schools didn’t want to wait for me. I got 2.5 GPA and went to Northern Colorado. I tore my labrum and redshirted that year in 2017. I had a nice spring. I wasn’t seeing eye to eye with the coach. I struggled with the playbook a bit. I couldn’t keep up the plays. I wasn’t doing what I was supposed to do. I transferred to Adams State for the 2018 season. They were a pass heavy offense. I got the ball 25 times and played a little at FB. I didn’t get the ball that much at Adams State. I got a National Bowl invite. I was happy about it. I plan to play at the Tropical Bowl in January.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Kendrick Igbinoba: I was playing at the New Mexico Military Institute at the time. We were playing in a bowl game. It was pouring rain. I got the ball and scored. I will never forget that because I told one of my teammates on the sideline that I would score before it happened.
Alex Khvatov: What is your favorite NFL team?
Kendrick Igbinoba: The Dallas Cowboys. I am from Dallas, Texas.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?
Kendrick Igbinoba: I liked to watch Dez Bryant and Tony Romo.
Alex Khvatov: What is the most important trait for a back?
Kendrick Igbinoba: You have to be physical and tough. You get hit every time. You also can’t play RB if you don’t have good vision.
