Alex Khvatov: What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?
Solomon Brown: I am 6’1”, 235 and I haven’t measured the 40-yard dash recently.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall experience at the FCS Bowl all-star game in Daytona Beach, FL.
Solomon Brown: The time there was fun and I got to play with a lot of good talent.
Alex Khvatov: What is the biggest thing that you will take away from that weekend?
Solomon Brown: The biggest thing I will take away is don’t be afraid to try new positions because you want to show that you are versatile.
Alex Khvatov: Who was the best player that you have faced at the FCS Bowl?
Solomon Brown: I am not sure because they were all so good.
Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in
you?
Solomon Brown: Charleston Southern University, Catawba University, Mercer and Coastal Carolina.
Alex Khvatov: Why did you choose Charleston Southern?
Solomon Brown: The coaches tried really hard to get me and tried really hard to get to know me and support me. I felt very comfortable with them and felt I could give my all for them.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Solomon Brown: My ability to play the full width of the field, and my hands.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Solomon Brown: I am trying to improve my one-on-one coverage just because in college I didn’t work on that or have the opportunities in the game to work on it.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall career to us.
Solomon Brown: I redshirted as a freshman. Then I went on to become the freshman of the year the next year. I was an all-American two years, my sophomore and senior year. I was a First Team All-Conference for all four years.
Alex Khvatov: What is your biggest accomplishment that you are most proud of?
Solomon Brown: I would say my freshman year was the biggest because I had a lot of people doubting me coming in and I showed them all up when I earned First Team All-Big South Freshman of the Year.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Solomon Brown: It is hard to pick one, but celebrating with everyone when we won the conference championship for the first time was really great.
Alex Khvatov: What have you learned the most from your coaching staff?
Solomon Brown: You never know what can happen if you just run to the ball every play.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?
Solomon Brown: My favorite current NFL player would have to be Khalil Mack.
Alex Khvatov: What is the most important trait for a LB?
Solomon Brown: The ability to read the flow of the play and react.
Alex Khvatov: Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that
you are looking for from the offense?
Solomon Brown: Hand pressure of the OL, the eyes of the QB, and looking at the running back’s tilt. As a LB, we have to take in a lot pre snap.
Alex Khvatov: What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next
season?
Solomon Brown: J.D. Sosebee and Kyle Reighard.
Alex Khvatov: Who is the toughest player that you have faced on an
opposing team?
Solomon Brown: Derrick Henry.
Alex Khvatov: What do you enjoy most about football?
Solomon Brown: The people you meet and the life lessons you learn.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your biggest role model and why?
Solomon Brown: I really don’t have a role model, but I take something from everyone and try to be the best me.
Alex Khvatov: What is your definition of a leader?
Solomon Brown: Someone that can be looked at when times are going good and bad and always encouraging the team.
Alex Khvatov: What are your hobbies?
Solomon Brown: Watching movies and being in or on the water.
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to do with your life after your football
career is over?
Solomon Brown: I want to create and design football helmets.
Alex Khvatov: What five words best describe you?
Solomon Brown: Motivated, leader, smart, creative and faithful.
Alex Khvatov: Who will win the National Championship in CFB this year?
Solomon Brown: It will be between Alabama and Clemson again, whoever shows up for four quarters will win.
Alex Khvatov: Who will win Super Bowl LIII in February?
Solomon Brown: The Saints are looking very strong.
