Jordan Ta’amu
Quarterback
Ole Miss
Alex Khvatov: Tell me about your experience at the 2019 East/West Shrine Game.
Jordan Ta’amu: It has been a blessing. To be here with a bunch of great athletes. I am super excited to come here and learn from the NFL coaches. Get the plays down and work with wonderful guys. Just bonding with the teammates here in general.
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to prove to scouts during this week?
Jordan Ta’amu: That I can command a huddle. I am jumping around. I get everybody hyped. I am a leader. Showcase myself under center.
Alex Khvatov: How did you wind up at JUCO?
Jordan Ta’amu: Coming out of high school, I had zero offers. University of Hawaii wanted me to walk-on and play safety. I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to help my parents out. A junior college in New Mexico called me and offered me a full ride. You don’t have to pay a dime. It was a great opportunity to go to the next level. It was a good start to get to a D-I school. I went there and played for a tear and a half.
Alex Khvatov: Why did you decide to transfer to Ole Miss?
Jordan Ta’amu: I wanted to reach the NFL. Another goal of mine. For me to go to the next level, I had to play in the toughest conference. I wanted to play against the best in the SEC. I believed in myself.
Alex Khvatov: You had an unbelievable receiving core at Ole Miss. How would you describe those guys?
Jordan Ta’amu: My WR core is awesome. TE Dawson Knox is a good player too. It is wonderful to have those weapons out there. I know that they will come down with the balls. My job is to get them the ball and watch them after.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Jordan Ta’amu: Being that leader. Using my feet when I have to get out of trouble.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Jordan Ta’amu: The ability to spread the ball around and not being selfish. Everybody was a weapon. My job was to get them the ball.
Alex Khvatov: Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?
Jordan Ta’amu: XPE down at Boca Raton, FL.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Jordan Ta’amu: In the huddle. I have never done that in my life. That is a change for me. Also being under center.
