Ryan Davis
Wide Receiver
Auburn
Alex Khvatov: Tell us about your overall experience at the 2019 East/West Shrine Game.
Ryan Davis: It meant a lot just to see those kids. See the influence and the impact that I can have on those kids. This game is definitely bigger than myself. It is a very humbling experience to go out there and to interact with those kids. It was good to see the smiles on their faces. Also just being here in my hometown. Being able to play in front of my family and friends. Playing here my last time. I am very appreciative that I have gotten this opportunity.
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to prove to scouts during this week?
Ryan Davis: I am an all-around receiver. I can run the full route tree and not just the short-yardage guy. I am not just the bubble screen guy.
Alex Khvatov: What did your older brother, Chris Davis tell you about the NFL? What advice has he given you?
Ryan Davis: Go out there and have fun. At the end of the day, it is still football. Don’t put pressure on yourself. Everything is being scrutinized. Everything is being watched. Act professionally.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Ryan Davis: My quickness and my separation out of routes. My ability after the catch and I can make people miss.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Ryan Davis: My vertical game. Just showing scouts that I can run the full route tree. I can run the deep comeback and deep post routes. I will continue to work on it.
Alex Khvatov: What is your biggest accomplishment during your college career?
Ryan Davis: Graduating. At the end of the day, football doesn’t last for long. Getting the diploma and doing for my family. Education will last forever.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Ryan Davis: The Alabama game my junior year. They were #1, and we defeated them. Also breaking the single season receptions record at Auburn.
Alex Khvatov: What one word best describes you?
Ryan Davis: Confident.
