Nick Brossette
Running Back
LSU
Alex Khvatov: Tell us about your overall experience at the 2019 East/West Shrine Game.
Nick Brossette: It means a lot. I get to showcase my talent. We visited the hospital with the kids. Being here is an honor. They selected me, so I am enjoying every moment of it.
Alex Khvatov: You finally got your chance your senior season to show what you can do.
Nick Brossette: I just had to be patient. There were two good guys in front of me. I learned a lot from them. It all paid off in the end. I am just blessed to be in this situation right now.
Alex Khvatov: What does it mean to you to follow in the footsteps of Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice?
Nick Brossette: I just had to go out there and be myself. I knew that I could do it. I did it my whole high school career. I had a lot of stuff going on. My brother passed away, and I tore my ACL. I just had to get my confidence back. I played well my senior year.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Nick Brossette: I am a complete running back. I can do it all. I can run between the tackles. I can pass protect.
Alex Khvatov: How did you become such a good pass protector?
Nick Brossette: If you go to LSU as a RB, if you can’t pass protect, you won’t be playing. If you can’t be a three-down back at LSU, you won’t see the field.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Nick Brossette: I want to work on my speed. My football speed is good. But I just got to keep elevating my game. I want to keep getting better.
Alex Khvatov: Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?
Nick Brossette: At Pete Bommarito’s in Miami.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of you career up to this point?
Nick Brossette: The first game against Miami. I scored my first TD. It was one of my breakout games.
Alex Khvatov: What one word best describes you?
Nick Brossette: Hungry.
