Alex Khvatov:  Tell us about your overall experience at the 2019 East/West Shrine Game.

Brody Oliver:  It’s incredible.  I am a Division II player here competing against some of the best players in the nation.  It is so much fun.  It is such an experience.  I am lucky to be here.

Alex Khvatov:  How did you wind up at Colorado School of Mines?

Brody Oliver:  I went to a small town in high school and played QB.  I went to Elizabeth high school outside of Denver.  I got offered by Western State and Colorado School of Mines.  Colorado School of Mines offers one of the best educations in the nation.  I ended up going there.

Alex Khvatov:  Did you get your degree already?

Brody Oliver:  I got my degree in December.  I got the degree in engineering.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your career to us.

Brody Oliver:  I came in and made the transition from QB.  Learned a lot from the older guys.  I started playing some special teams my redshirt freshman year.  I got to play with a guy named Justin Dvorak who is an incredible talent.  He won the Harlon Hill award during my sophomore year.  I ended up catching 26 TD’s that year.  It skyrocketed me.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight for you up to this point?

Brody Oliver:  The 2018 season.  We had a great season.  We had a QB that transferred in from Indiana State.  Isaac Harker was absolutely incredible.  He was a lot of fun to play with.  We had a great group of guys.  They will be in my wedding someday whenever I get married.  A group of guys that I would do anything for.  We had such a good season.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Brody Oliver:  My ball skills.  I am a student of the game.  I pick up playbooks.  I love studying film.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Brody Oliver:  Blocking has been my focus every year.

Alex Khvatov:  Do you have a chip on your shoulder as a small school guy?

Brody Oliver:  I definitely have a chip on my shoulder.  I feel that I deserve to be here just like everyone else.  I am trying to play my best game.  I think that I will excel.
