Players who have helped themselves at 2019 Tropical Bowl

2019 Tropical Bowl

Here are the players who have helped themselves the most during the 2019 all-star game weekend.

WR Jaelan Austin (TCU)

Austin walked away with the MVP award during Sunday’s game.  He never put up big numbers at TCU, but his skillset was on display during the practice sessions.  He is an athlete with good speed.  He is also very strong and has impressive body control.  He has large hands and he consistently catches the ball away from his body.

WR Floyd Allen (Ole Miss)

He transferred to Ole Miss from JUCO.  Allen arrived on campus as a walk-on.  He has been a backup and a special teams’ contributor for most of his career.  He had a talented group of wide receivers ahead of him in A.J. Brown, D.K. Metcalf and DeMarcus Lodge.  He is a slot WR who showed good route running ability and consistent hands at the Tropical Bowl.

DT Rashad Brandon (Missouri)

He transferred from JUCO and spent two years at Missouri.  Brandon had his best year as a junior.  His greatest asset is his quickness off the ball.  He dominated the one on one practice sessions because no one could handle his quick first step.  He has long arms, demonstrated a strong initial hand punch and also showed active hands.

TE Justin Johnson (Mississippi State)

He was underutilized throughout his career with the Bulldogs.  Johnson is a receiving TE who used his quickness to gain consistent separation against linebackers and safeties this weekend.  He ran precise routes and displayed good hands.

OL Thomas Dennis (Penn)

Dennis is an OT who has excelled in pass protection at Penn.  He hasn’t given up a single sack the last two seasons.  He shined at the FCS Bowl and continued his strong play against FBS players.  He is a technician.  He displays good feet.  I have been impressed with his knee bend and hand placement.  He has shown the ability to reset in pass pro.  He is better suited to kick inside to OG or C at the next level.

Hi Chris,
This particular file has disappeared. You posted it before, but it is no longer on the site.  Please bring it back.  I don’t see it anywhere anymore.
Thanks,
