South Team
By: Ed Hunt
Since Day Two was indoors and closed off to credentialed media, we will only have a Day One and Three Practice Reports. This practice was in pads.
Quarterbacks:
Will Grier ran the two-minute offense well in the drill. He did show some trouble dropping a pass into the bucket.
Jarrett Stidham missed badly on a pass.
Tyree Jackson has quite an arm. I also saw him fit a pass into a tight window.
Gardner Minshew threw an interception.
Wide Receivers:
Anthony Johnson had a drop.
Deebo Samuel had two nice catches in the corner of the end zone.
David Sills V needed to run better routes.
Travis Fulgham had two nice catches.
Gary Jennings with two catches including a leaping catch.
Tight Ends:
Foster Moreau had a fumble on the day. He also had a diving catch.
Offensive Line:
Pierschbacher needs a stronger base. He did win his battle in the 1 on 1’s.
Tytus Howard won his battle in the 1 on 1’s.
Ben Powers won his battle in the 1 on 1’s.
Oli Udoh won his battle in the 1 on 1’s.
Defensive Line:
Jaylon Ferguson looked aggressive. He won both of his battles in the 1 on 1’s. I love his power for his size.
Kinglsey Keke won both of his battles in the 1 on 1’s.
Oshane Ximines won his battle in the 1 on 1’s.
Demarcus Christmas won his battle in the 1 on 1’s.
Isaiah Buggs won his battle in the 1 on 1s. I also liked his hand fighting.
Cornerbacks:
Jimmy Moreland from James Madison showed good things in zone coverage. He also opened up his hips at the right time on a deep ball.
Lonnie Johnson Jr. had a nice pass breakup.
