WR KeeSean Johnson (Fresno State) Shrine Game Interview

KeeSean Johnson

Wide Receiver

Fresno State

Alex Khvatov:  Where did you get the name KeeSean?

KeeSean Johnson:  My dad wanted to name me Sean.  He wanted to throw a little sprinkle in the air.  I guess that Keyshawn Johnson was one of his favorite receivers.  Getting named KeeSean might have had something to do with it, but I don’t think so.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall experience at the 2019 East/West Shrine Game.

KeeSean Johnson:  It is a great opportunity.  I am blessed that I got invited and was able to play here.  I always give it all I got each day.  Show my talent against Power 5 schools.

Alex Khvatov:  What is it like having your QB Marcus McMaryion here with you?

KeeSean Johnson:  It is a good feeling.  I know that we are comfortable with each other.  It is a good thing having him here.

Alex Khvatov:  Who was the best CB that you have faced during this week?

KeeSean Johnson:  There are a lot of good ones.  I give all of the guys their credit.  They all do different things well.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

KeeSean Johnson:  I am a playmaker.  I catch the ball well.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

KeeSean Johnson:  There is always room for improvement.  Keep working on your feet to get them quicker.  Keep working on getting in and out of breaks quicker.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of you career up to this point?

KeeSean Johnson:  We were 12-2 this past season.  We won the MWC championship.  It is my biggest accomplishment of my college career.  I also broke the schools career receiving yards record and receptions record.

Alex Khvatov:  What has your head coach Jeff Tedford brought to Fresno State?

KeeSean Johnson:  We are a hardworking team.  He demanded a lot from us when he came in.  He put a different perspective into our head.  We turned around and went from 1-11 season to 10-4.  Then we went 12-2 this year.  He is a great coach.  He knows great things.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite route to run on the football field?

KeeSean Johnson:  I like comeback routes.  I got a lot of stuff in my route tree.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your proudest accomplishment during your college career?

KeeSean Johnson:  Winning the MWC championship.

Alex Khvatov:  What one word best describes you?

KeeSean Johnson:  Determined.  I am a playmaker on the football field.

Alex Khvatov:  Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?
