Alex Khvatov: What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?
Ryan Schadler: 5’10’’, 192 lbs. I haven’t run the 40 in a few years, so not sure. We will find out at the pro day.
Alex Khvatov: Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?
Ryan Schadler: Sharp Performance in Salina, KS.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall experience at the 2019 Tropical Bowl.
Ryan Schadler: My experience was great. I got a lot of exposure and performed very well. The staff ran the three days very professionally, and I am so thankful I had the opportunity to shine.
Alex Khvatov: What is the biggest thing that you will take away from the Tropical Bowl?
Ryan Schadler: The relationships and connections I established.
Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?
Ryan Schadler: I was a very successful track athlete and went to Wichita State University to run division I track first, schools that showed interest for football were Kansas, Kansas State, Northwest Missouri State, Missouri Southern, Emporia State, Fort Hays State, Missouri State and Nebraska
Alex Khvatov: Why did you choose Kansas?
Ryan Schadler: The coaches and an opportunity it gave me. It was close to home and wanted to play for my state.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Ryan Schadler: Definitely my speed and catching ability. I am also a very dynamic return guy on special teams. I am also very strong for my position.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Ryan Schadler: Continue to improve route running and agility.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall career.
Ryan Schadler: My overall career was good. I learned so much about life in my time at Kansas. I played a lot of different positions and I believe it made me a better overall player.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Ryan Schadler: Being an All-Big 12 kickoff returner my freshman year.
Alex Khvatov: What is your biggest accomplishment in college that you are most proud of?
Ryan Schadler: Being on the athletic directors’ honor roll every semester of college.
Alex Khvatov: What have you learned the most from your coaching staff?
Ryan Schadler: Be the best version of myself and outwork everyone with attention to detail.
Alex Khvatov: What is your favorite NFL team?
Ryan Schadler: Kansas City Chiefs.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?
Ryan Schadler: Adam Thielen.
Alex Khvatov: What is the most important trait for a WR?
Ryan Schadler: Good route running and catching ability. Also, blocking in the run game.
Alex Khvatov: Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that you are looking for from the defense?
Ryan Schadler: What coverages they are in and the tendencies the guy has across the line from me.
Alex Khvatov: What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?
Ryan Schadler: Bryce Torneden, he is a very physical safety that works hard. Khalil Herbert at running back plays downhill and reads holes very well.
Alex Khvatov: Who is the toughest player that you have faced on an opposing team?
Ryan Schadler: Joel Lanning of Iowa State. He led the Big 12 in tackles and also played QB. It seemed like he never got tired and his motor was always running. Very physical and aggressive player.
Alex Khvatov: What do you enjoy most about football?
Ryan Schadler: Working everyday with your brothers for one goal. There is also nothing like a game day feeling.
Alex Khvatov: What is your definition of a leader?
Ryan Schadler: Someone who leads by example and pulls others with them. They care about their teammates’ success as much as theirs.
Alex Khvatov: What are your hobbies?
Ryan Schadler: I enjoy fishing. I also enjoy training young athletes.
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?
Ryan Schadler: Train athletes and the general population. It is something I am passionate about.
