Alex Khvatov: Tell me about your experience at the 2019 East/West Shrine Game.
Ulysees Gilbert III: It is a wonderful experience. It is a blessing to be out here with all of these talented guys from different schools. To run around and see how everybody plays. We have all come together as one team. Having great chemistry.
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to show scouts during this week?
Ulysees Gilbert III: To make plays. I wanted to show my speed and athleticism. Using my hands and shedding blocks. I felt like I have done a good job with it this week. I am very happy with how my week went.
Alex Khvatov: How did you wind up at Akron?
Ulysees Gilbert III: I was committed to Cincinnati for about six months. Then I de-committed. Akron and a few other schools came late. I took an official visit. I heard a lot of good things about the d-coordinator at Akron. That sold me on going to Akron.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Ulysees Gilbert III: Using my speed and making plays. Making plays in the backfield and going sideline-to-sideline. Showing leadership.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Ulysees Gilbert III: Using hands better and shedding blocks. Attacking more downhill.
Alex Khvatov: Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?
Ulysees Gilbert III: Tom Shaw in Orlando.
Alex Khvatov: What one word best describes you?
Ulysees Gilbert III: Reliable.
