Alex Khvatov: What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?
Fredrick Jones: Measurements are 6’2, 310 and I have not ran the forty yet.
Alex Khvatov: Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?
Fredrick Jones: I’m currently training at six1five in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall experience at the 2019 Tropical Bowl.
Fredrick Jones: My experience at the Tropical Bowl was great. Play with guys from all over the country. Met new faces and met some familiar faces. It was great because of location, so that my family came to the game. Many scouts saw all the different talent that was there.
Alex Khvatov: Who was the best player that you faced during that all-star game weekend?
Fredrick Jones: The center (Connor Dintino) who was from the University of Pittsburgh.
Alex Khvatov: What is the biggest thing that you will take away from the Tropical Bowl?
Fredrick Jones: The biggest take away I have from the bowl was the brotherhood and the new friends that I have made.
Alex Khvatov: Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?
Fredrick Jones: Coming out of high school, there were three programs that gave me a scholarship which were Western Kentucky, Fordham and Florida State.
Alex Khvatov: Why did you choose Florida State?
Fredrick Jones: It was my best offer, the history of the school, the many players that went pro, my family could come see me play, but more importantly a great education.
Alex Khvatov: What was it like following in the footsteps of your father and uncle who also played for the Seminoles?
Fredrick Jones: I would say following in the footsteps of my father and uncle as I made my own path. I played D-line and not linebacker. I wore the number, but I try to make my own path by playing D-line, doing track, graduating early and almost finishing my masters while I was on scholarship.
Alex Khvatov: What are your strengths?
Fredrick Jones: My strengths are being strong, short so I win many leverage battles, having excellent instincts and I am very smart about playing the game.
Alex Khvatov: What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?
Fredrick Jones: The areas I need to improve is pass rush and sometimes I get a little too high coming out of my stance.
Alex Khvatov: Describe your overall career.
Fredrick Jones: My overall career was great. I won a few bowl games, major games, played against the best of the best in the country, changed a lot of children and people’s lives through all of my community service.
Alex Khvatov: What is the highlight of your career up to this point?
Fredrick Jones: The highlight of my career is changing the lives of kids in the community by volunteering at different camps, school readings and hospitals.
Alex Khvatov: What have you learned the most from your coaching staff?
Fredrick Jones: Football is a brotherhood because once you leave and then come back many years later and talk to your teammates, it seems like time never passed.
Alex Khvatov: Who is your favorite NFL player?
Fredrick Jones: My favorite NFL player is Aaron Donald
Alex Khvatov: What is the most important trait for a DL?
Fredrick Jones: Most important traits for a DL are hands, speed, power, leverage and instincts.
Alex Khvatov: Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that you are looking for from the offense?
Fredrick Jones: Before the ball is snapped, I first get the play and know what my job is. Then I look at down and distance and see what tendencies they do from film study, then look at the O-line and see if I can have a key to see where the play is going.
Alex Khvatov: What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?
Fredrick Jones: Player on the team to keep an eye on next season is Amir Rasul.
Alex Khvatov: Who is the toughest player that you have faced on an opposing team?
Fredrick Jones: The toughest player was Lamar Jackson.
Alex Khvatov: What do you enjoy most about football?
Fredrick Jones: I enjoy the most about football is playing the game that I love and have the passion for playing. And for the brotherhood.
Alex Khvatov: What is your definition of a leader?
Fredrick Jones: Someone who has a major influence off the field. At FSU everybody is good, but to be a leader to me, you have to be good off the field and set an example for others to follow. Must also have an influence in the community in a positive way.
Alex Khvatov: What are your hobbies?
Fredrick Jones: My hobbies are fishing, watching movies, eating, cooking and working out.
Alex Khvatov: What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?
Fredrick Jones: I want to start a job in the corporate world and work my way up to owning a few businesses and building a school and a community center.
Alex Khvatov: What five words best describe you?
Fredrick Jones: Awesome, genuine, outgoing, charismatic and accountable.
