Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Brodrick Mclean:  I am 5’10, 250 and a 4.8.

Alex Khvatov:  Where are you currently training for the NFL Draft?

Brodrick Mclean:  I am training at my college at UNC Pembroke.  I stayed at my university as a student, even though I played football at JUCO.

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Brodrick Mclean:  In high school, I wrestled initially.  Senior year, I rotated in and out with my brother.  I wasn’t highly recruited.  I had some D-III schools.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose UNC Pembroke?

Brodrick Mclean:  I went there as a student and I walked on for football.  I played for one year.  But I had to step away because of grades.  I had to mature.  I was really cocky.  I didn’t want to transfer to a different school because I knew that I could get a great education at UNC Pembroke.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you transfer to University of God’s Chosen?

Brodrick Mclean:  I didn’t leave UNC Pembroke.  I kept going to class.  I left the football program.  I went to play football at a JUCO.

Alex Khvatov:  Tell us about your career.

Brodrick Mclean:  I played at the University of God’s Chosen in 2017 and 2018.  This was a brand-new program.  We didn’t have a lot of games.  We played four games my first season and then we played two games my senior year.  We had some financial problems and some mismanagement.  I have also played some minor league football and in a semi-pro league.  I also played for an all-star team.  I played for Team USA, and we played overseas in Canada and Mexico.  It was organized by East Preps.  I also played at the Senior Scout Bowl in Myrtle Beach with D-II, D-III, D-I, JUCO guys and three international players.  I was a starting LB there.  I got a camp invite to the American Arena League.  Cape Fear Heroes gave me a two-week tryout, which will start on Monday.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Brodrick Mclean:  My IQ and high-motor.  I bring emotion and ambition.  I am always competing to the whistle.  I have good awareness and I communicate well on the field.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Brodrick Mclean:  Elusiveness.  Learning the playbook and different defensive coverages.  Speed and technique.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Brodrick Mclean:  Being able to compete against D-I players at the Senior Scout Bowl in Myrtle Beach.  I wanted to prove myself every single play.  I ended up being a starter at ILB.  I made a huge play in practice and I came up with a safety in the game.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Brodrick Mclean:  I always liked the Jets, even though I was born and raised in North Carolina.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Brodrick Mclean:  Ray Lewis is my guy.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for a LB?

Brodrick Mclean:  You have to be disciplined.  You have a huge responsibility as an interior LB.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Brodrick Mclean:  I made a promise to my grandmother when I was a sophomore in high school that I will play professional football.  She never doubted me.  She took me to the games, but she passed away before I was able to play.  Football is my outlet.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Brodrick Mclean:  I like visual art.  I like to spend time with kids.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you want to do with your life after your football career is over?

Brodrick Mclean:  I am majoring in computer science.  I should graduate in May.  I always wanted to work for a company that provides services for big companies and government companies.  I had a lot of internships with government companies.  I spent 600 hours doing an internship with the police department.  I was an intern with Homeland security and with a multimillion-dollar company.

Alex Khvatov:  What five words best describe you?

Brodrick Mclean:  Disciplined, humble, loyal, scholar and giving.
