Chavez Pownell Jr.
Defensive Back
Wyoming
Ed Hunt: How did you feel out there during your Pro Day?
Chavez Pownell Jr.: I felt good. I felt comfortable. After all the hard work from these past two months. I felt pretty good. Pretty confident.
Ed Hunt: What have you played on special teams?
Chavez Pownell Jr.: Pretty much everything. That’s where I made a living at, on special teams. That’s life. Special teams and stuff like that.
Ed Hunt: Would you say you are more of a corner?
Chavez Pownell Jr.: Yeah. I would definitely like to play corner at the next level. But I can play pretty much anything in the defensive backfield. I can play nickel, dime, safety, in-the-box safety and free safety. I can play all of that also.
Ed Hunt: Are you a better fit in the slot?
Chavez Pownell Jr.: I feel more comfortable in the slot. After I got moved to nickel, I felt a lot more comfortable there. But I can play outside. I can play deep two.
Ed Hunt: Did the scouts tell you what your 40 time was today?
Chavez Pownell Jr.: 4.58.
Ed Hunt: Is there a team you would be a good fit with? If you go undrafted, do you have an idea where you would like to go?
Chavez Pownell Jr.: Any team honestly. Anybody that is willing to take a chance on me and give me an opportunity. That’s all I really ask for. I will play anywhere.
