Nico Evans
Running Back
Wyoming
Ed Hunt: How did it feel out there during your Pro Day?
Nico Evans: It felt really good. First going in, you have your nerves and you are anxious. But right when I did the first test, it was like everything calmed down. I guess that’s the preparation we did at Mamba Sports Academy.
Ed Hunt: Have you hired an agent?
Nico Evans: Yes, I have. Shawn Howard of MGC Sports.
Ed Hunt: Have you talked with your agent about what round you are going to go in?
Nico Evans: You know, it’s way too early to tell with all that. You know, I’ve always seen myself as kind of an underrated dude. I’ve just always fought my way to the top. So, if I go early, I go early and if not, I’m going to find my way to the top.
Ed Hunt: I noticed today that you did really well in the explosion and the footwork drills. Is that something you work on a lot?
Nico Evans: Yeah, I feel like footwork is one of my strengths.
Ed Hunt: What are your other strengths other than footwork?
Nico Evans: I would say my vision and my ability to break tackles.
Ed Hunt: What are the things you are working on between now and draft day?
Nico Evans: I’m trying to work on just being a complete back. I’m in the film room looking at blitz pickup. I’m working on pad level. On the field, I am working on speed. A number of things. Backs in this league today aren’t just one dimensional. They do it all.
Ed Hunt: What have you done on special teams thus far in your career?
Nico Evans: Everything. My first three years here, I was a starter on all six special teams. Kickoff, kick return, punt, punt return, hands team and onside. Special teams is a big part of my game.
Ed Hunt: Can you play gunner on special teams?
Nico Evans: I have played it. I can do it.
Ed Hunt: Is there a team you would like to go to if you were to go undrafted?
Nico Evans: There is no team. I like who likes me. Whoever picks me, I want them to think that is the best decision they ever made.
