Tristan Yeomans
Long Snapper
Kentucky
Ed Hunt: How did it feel out there during your Pro Day?
Tristan Yeomans: It felt good. A lot of excitement building up to it. We have been training for a long time, so it felt good to get out there and show what you got.
Ed Hunt: Can you take me through what goes through your mind in a game where the game is on the line and you have to make that critical long-snap?
Tristan Yeomans: It’s funny because we actually had one in our bowl game against Penn State. I try to clear my mind. I’ve done it 100 times. Try to make it seem like it’s just another snap. Just try to clear your mind. Don’t try to think about anything. Just think about being perfect, running down and making a play.
Ed Hunt: Do you play any other positions on special teams?
Tristan Yeomans: I was our holder. I long-snapped the punts and held the field goals.
Ed Hunt: Did you play an offensive or defensive position in high school?
Tristan Yeomans: I did, I played a little bit of quarterback and receiver and free safety. I also did a little bit of special teams as well in high school.
Ed Hunt: If you were to break down your strengths, what would be your argument for being a late-round pick?
Tristan Yeomans: I would say speed. I possess a little more athleticism than the average long snapper. I would say my intelligence. My study habits for the game. I like to study my opponent and know who I am ready for in a game. I’m a little stronger than what I seem. I’m not too heavy but for my weight, I can pull a bit for how much I weigh.
Ed Hunt: What are you working on between now and draft day?
Tristan Yeomans: I’m going to try and put on a little more weight. Staying strong. But when I put on weight, I want to maintain my speed. I want to get a little bit faster and just consistency. Just be consistent every single time.
