Ezekiel Rose
Defensive End
West Virginia
Ed Hunt: How did it feel out there during your Pro Day?
Ezekiel Rose: It felt just like another day. Just a little bit more important. Do you know what I am saying? Either life-changing or leave my life the same.
Ed Hunt: Did the scouts tell you what your 40 time was?
Ezekiel Rose: The scouts didn’t tell me it.
Ed Hunt: What are you working on between now and the draft?
Ezekiel Rose: More explosion from my hips and trying to get a little leaner.
Ed Hunt: What weight do you want to play at?
Ezekiel Rose: I’m at like 282. That’s what I weighed in at and I want to be 280.
Ed Hunt: What is your best fit on the defensive line?
Ezekiel Rose: I like 5-tech. But I can play the five or the three (technique).
Ed Hunt: Do you think you fit better in a 3-4 scheme or a 4-3 scheme?
Ezekiel Rose: I would say 4-3, but I just played in a 3-4 so I’m accustomed to both.
Ed Hunt: Can you tell me about your teammate LB David Long?
Ezekiel Rose: Having David Long behind you is a relief because you know he will get the linemen off you like the double team. He can break up a double team really quick. He’ll get through the line like going full speed every play. He is somebody you can trust like on and off the field. I’m grateful to have that. I had that in David Long.
Ed Hunt: What do you think of him as a person?
Ezekiel Rose: Great guy! He doesn’t say much, but when he does it’s either really funny or it means something. Most of the time he is in a serious mood. Like he always has something inspirational to say. He is fun to talk to. Always making jokes and stuff.
Ed Hunt: Talk about strengths. What makes you a day three guy?
Ezekiel Rose: I would say my endurance. I can go for a long time. I feel like I can run at top speed for a long period of time and I feel like I can push myself to the limit for real.
Ed Hunt: How many years did you start at West Virginia?
Ezekiel Rose: I didn’t start. I started a couple games my junior year, but I didn’t start last season.
Ed Hunt: Which junior college did you come from?
Ezekiel Rose: From East Mississippi Community College.
Ed Hunt: Do you have a favorite NFL team that you have had since you’ve been growing up?
Ezekiel Rose: Not really. I never had a favorite NFL team, but I had favorite people.
Ed Hunt: Who is your favorite player?
Ezekiel Rose: I love LaDainian Tomlinson. That was my guy.
Ed Hunt: Can you give me three words to describe you?
Ezekiel Rose: Energetic, trustworthy and virtuous.
