DT Kenny Bigelow Jr. (West Virginia) Interview

Kenny Bigelow Jr.
Defensive Tackle
West Virginia

Ed Hunt:  How did it feel out there during the Pro Day?

Kenny Bigelow Jr.:  Today, it felt great.  I felt like I got a chance to showcase my talent, showcase my strength and showed my explosion.  I think I did some things that the scouts really like to see.

Ed Hunt:  What have the scouts told you about your pro day workout?

Kenny Bigelow Jr.:  They really like the 32 reps I put up on the bench.  They like the 8’9 that I jumped in my broad.  They like the explosion at the 310 weight that I came in, just the movements in my drills.  They liked the fluidity, the strength for my size and just getting through these drills.

Ed Hunt:  What do you think is your best fit on the defensive line?

Kenny Bigelow Jr.:  I think I fit perfectly in the three-technique, two technique or four technique.  Somewhere where I can work in space, but not too much space.  Where I can be disruptive in the backfield and rush the passer.  I think those are two of my biggest assets.

Ed Hunt:  How many years have you started at West Virginia?

Kenny Bigelow Jr.:  One.  I was a grad transfer.  I was here for seven months.  I got here in May after the bowl game.  I was one and done.  I played my previous years of college football at USC.

Ed Hunt:  What made you want to transfer to West Virginia?  Playing time?

Kenny Bigelow Jr.:  Playing time.  Yes, sir.  I went through a couple of injuries.  It was well documented.  Two ACL surgeries.  I got lost in the recruiting shuffle after that, but I knew that I could play.  I knew that I had the ability to play and I just needed somebody to give me the opportunity.  I got my waiver sent out, and West Virginia gave me that opportunity.  I couldn’t be happier with the choice that I made.

Ed Hunt:  Do you have any pre-draft visits scheduled with any teams?

Kenny Bigelow Jr.:  At the moment no, but after this Pro Day I hope to get some calls.  Fingers crossed and I’m just taking every day as it comes.

Ed Hunt:  Can you give me your strengths?  What reason should you be picked on day three?

Kenny Bigelow Jr.:  I’m explosive, aggressive, a strong guy and I finish.  I finish at the point of contact and striking.  I make tackles.  I’m a disruptive player.  I’m not a knucklehead.  I’m a great locker room guy.  Guys like me.  I gravitate toward the leaders in the locker room, I am one, to be honest with you.  They are going to get a guy who is capable and ready to be the best version of himself, no matter where he is taken, day three or free agent.  It doesn’t matter.
