DAY TWO

BEST PICKS

35th Overall Pick OT Jawaan Taylor (Florida) – Jacksonville Jaguars

Taylor was a popular pick to the Jaguars in the first round.  He fell out of the first round completely due to some questions about his knee.  He is a steal at this point.  He should start at RT as a rookie.  He has good size with long arms.  He is a very good run blocker.  He is very strong and has good feet.  He has major potential.

38th Overall Pick OL Cody Ford (Oklahoma) – Buffalo Bills

The Bills are having a good draft so far.  I had Ford rated as a top 10 player.  He is a versatile OL who can either play RT or OG at the next level.  He has good strength and shows proper knee bend.  He is a tough, nasty player with light feet.  He sustains his blocks very well and can get out to the second level.

41st Overall Pick OL Dalton Risner (Kansas State) – Denver Broncos

Risner shows the versatility to play multiple positions on the OL.  But he projects as an OG with the Broncos.  He has good size and great strength.  He is a nasty OL who finishes his blocks.  He is a good knee bender.  He excels as a run blocker and easily gets to the second level.

48th Overall Pick C Erik McCoy (Texas A&M) – New Orleans Saints

He was my top-rated C in this draft.  The Saints lost Max Unger to retirement and were lucky to get McCoy with this selection.  He was a three-year starter with the Aggies and got better every year.  He is terrific athlete who displays great movement skills.  He is explosive off the ball and is also very strong at the point of attack.  He is a terrific knee bender and displays quick feet.

65th Overall Pick DE Zach Allen (Boston College) – Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals were looking for more bodies up front on the defensive line.  Allen is the perfect fit as a 3-4 DE.  He has very good size, long arms and outstanding strength.  He holds his ground well and is a good run defender.  He is also an excellent tackler.  He uses his hands well and has good pass rush repertoire moves.

77th Overall Pick DE/OLB Chase Winovich (Michigan) – New England Patriots

The Patriots got a steal in the third round.  Chase Winovich is an underrated pass rusher.  He is a much better athlete than he is given credit for.  He displays a very good bull rush and terrific strength.  He has active, heavy hands and is able to shed blocks quickly.  He is a good run defender and has a non-stop motor.
