LB Logan Wilson (Wyoming) Pro Day Interview

Logan Wilson

Linebacker / Wyoming

Ed Hunt:  How do you feel about your Pro Day numbers compared to your combine numbers?

Logan Wilson:  I don’t even know what my “L” drill was.  That was the only drill that I did.  Everything else was from the combine.

Ed Hunt:  You were up there in terms of your 40 time.  How did you feel about your combine?

Logan Wilson:  I put my best foot forward and did what I wanted to do at the combine.  I was very proud of that.

Ed Hunt:  Did you interview with every team or most teams?

Logan Wilson:  There were a lot of informal interviews.  I couldn’t keep track.  I’m pretty sure I met with every team and I had some formal interviews as well.

Ed Hunt:  Is there a takeaway from the combine?  Not everyone who comes through the University of Wyoming gets to go to the combine.

Logan Wilson:  It’s just a process that you kind of have to go through.  I was thankful I was there.  It was a long and stressful week.  I did wwhat I wanted to and I accomplished what I wanted to accomplish, so I was proud of that.

Ed Hunt:  They kind of test you?  They make you stay in a room?  You don’t sleep much?

Logan Wilson:  It’s a stress test.  They put you in some situations to be uncomfortable on purpose.

Ed Hunt:  Did they ask you any crazy questions?

Logan Wilson:  Honestly, I didn’t get any crazy questions.

Ed Hunt:  Talk about the Senior Bowl.  Is there a player that you played against that was particularly memorable?

Logan Wilson:  Josh Kelly, the running back from UCLA.  He was pretty good.  I’ve gotten to know him a little bit because he’s with the same agency.  He’s a good kid.

Ed Hunt:  Do you know what round you are going to go in?

Logan Wilson:  I mean, it’s kind of up in the air right now.  We’ll know more when it gets closer to the draft.

Ed Hunt:  What pre-draft visits do you have scheduled?

Logan Wilson:  I just have two.  I have one with the Eagles and one with the Chiefs.

Ed Hunt:  Do you have any friends or family in the NFL?

Logan Wilson:  I played high school football with a kid who plays for the Jaguars now.  I also played with some guys here who are in the NFL.

Ed Hunt:  Are you a local guy?

Logan Wilson:  I’m from Casper, yeah.

Ed Hunt:  Is that what made you choose University of Wyoming?

Logan Wilson:  Yeah.

Ed Hunt:  You had about 400 tackles during your career at the University of Wyoming.  Can you talk about longevity?

Logan Wilson:  I take pride in taking care of myself.  I try to do the little things right on and off the field.  Whether that is sleep, nutrition and recovery.  Things like that.  That’s why I’ve been able to stay on the field as much as I’ve been able to.

Ed Hunt:  You’ve been a part of a senior class that has had four winning seasons.  What does that mean to you?

Logan Wilson:  It means a lot.  To see the changes we have had since I first got here until now.  To be a small part of that is very humbling.  Very rewarding.  Just to say that we helped turn this program around.

Ed Hunt:  What is your biggest strength?

Logan Wilson:  That I play with a very high effort.

Ed Hunt:  If there is one thing you are going to work on between now and training camp?

Logan Wilson:  Man-to-man coverage.

Ed Hunt:  Do you have a certain linebacker role that you want to play whether it be a 3-4 or a 4-3?

Logan Wilson:  Wherever a team needs me.  I played in a 4-3 here.  More like a 4-2-5.  I think I can play outside backer in some certain schemes too.

Ed Hunt:  Was there a running back that was particularly hard to cover at the Senior Bowl?

Logan Wilson:  Josh Kelly

Ed Hunt:  Did you play any other sports in high school or growing up?

Logan Wilson:  I played basketball and ran track.

Ed Hunt:  What is your biggest accomplishment in that sport?

Logan Wilson: We won both state championships in both my senior year.  We won state championships in football, basketball and track as a team.
