Coray Williams

Safety / Wesley College

Ed Hunt:  What are your measurements? (Height, Weight and 40 time)

Coray Williams:  I’m 6’1 ½, 218 pounds, and I run a high 4.5 or low 4.6.

Ed Hunt:  What has happened to your training due to the COVID 19?

Coray Williams:  Just because of the virus, I didn’t stop training.  I am videotaping it and having it put out there like that.

Ed Hunt:  How many scouts have you talked to?

Coray Williams:  I talked to few scouts when I was at the College Gridiron Showcase.  I talked to the Colts, Jets, Packers, Cowboys, Rams and the Giants.

Ed Hunt:  What schools were interested in you out of high school?

Coray Williams:  Coming out of high school, I had a few D-I schools.  Rutgers, Pitt, Temple, Stony Brook, Wagner and Villanova.

Ed Hunt:  What made you pick Wesley College out of high school?

Coray Williams:  Time was running out and Coach Azz recruited me heavily.  I loved the players, campus and felt at home there.

Ed Hunt:  Are you more of a free safety or an in-the-box safety?

Coray Williams:  I can play both, but I look at myself as more of a strong safety.  I played strong safety for three years here.

Ed Hunt:  What is your biggest sport outside of football?

Coray Williams:  In high school, I did track and field.  I like playing basketball as well.

Ed Hunt:  What is your biggest accomplishment in that sport?

Coray Williams:  Making the 3.51 in the relays.  In high school, I was the third one.

Ed Hunt:  What are your strengths on the football field?

Coray Williams:  My field IQ is one of my strengths.  I can tell based on their alignment, if it’s going to be run or a pass and my other strength is how much ground I can cover.

Ed Hunt:  What are your weaknesses?

Coray Williams:  I feel I don’t have as good of hips and my transition in and out of my breaks.

Ed Hunt:  What was the highlight of your career?

Coray Williams:  My favorite game was the Delaware Valley game.  Our head coach had just died the summer before.  I had 13 tackles and a pass breakup.

Ed Hunt:  What is your biggest accomplishment in college?

Coray Williams:  Becoming a captain my senior year.  Know the captains that came through Wesley and having my name up there with all of them.

Ed Hunt:  What have you learned the most from your coaching staff?

Coray Williams:  Have faith in adversity.  Don’t let a tough time bring you down.  You can take that in life with you anywhere that you can go.

Ed Hunt:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Coray Williams:  I’m a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Ed Hunt:  Who is an NFL player you model your career off of?

Coray Williams:  My favorite NFL player to watch is Derwin James.  All the positions he can play.  I feel I can be a factor anywhere on the field.

Ed Hunt:  What is the most important trait for a safety?

Coray Williams:  Being able to cover ground.  Especially if you are a free safety, you have to cover ground.  If you want to be a great player, those are plays that you are going to have to make.

Ed Hunt:  Before the ball is snapped, what tendencies are you looking for in the offense?

Coray Williams:  I’m looking for how many backs are in the backfield.  Seeing what things I can do with their formations.  How they are lined up in their stance.

Ed Hunt:  What players from your team should we keep an eye on for next year (underclassmen)?

Coray Williams:  Linebacker Dante Daniel, DL Shymere Vessels, RB EJ Lee, CB Isiah Mitchell and S Marcus Gaspard.

Ed Hunt:  Who is the best player you have faced on an opposing team?

Coray Williams: It would be either Joe Germinara or Dan Allen (TE/WR) from Delaware Valley University.

Ed Hunt:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Coray Williams:  All the hard work and then just going to war with your brothers and all of you are on the field for one thing and that is to win.

Ed Hunt:  What makes you unique?

Coray Williams:  I feel there are not a lot of safeties who can do what I can do.  I can move at my position.  I can cover a receiver and a running back and I’m a factor on special teams as well.

Ed Hunt:  What are your hobbies?

Coray Williams:  I like listening to music, working out and playing video games.

Ed Hunt:  What do you want to do with your life after your football career?

Coray Williams:  I want to be a sports psychologist or a sports performance coach.  I feel there not a lot of trainers focused on these activities.  Working on their sports skills.

Ed Hunt:  What was your degree in?

Coray Williams:  I’m getting a bachelor of science degree in exercise science.

Ed Hunt:  What five words best describe you?

Coray Williams:  Hard working, respectful, trustworthy, leader and loyal.

Ed Hunt:  Why should an NFL team draft you?

Coray Williams:  An NFL team should draft me because I’m a guy who is going to work hard and scratch and claw to get on the field.  I am also someone off the field who is going to represent their franchise well.
