OL Osaro Eromosele (New Haven) Interview

Osaro Eromosele
Offensive Lineman / New Haven

Alex Khvatov:  What are your measurements (height, weight and forty time)?

Osaro Eromosele:  6’4 305 and ran a 5.1 in high school.

Alex Khvatov:  Where were you training for the NFL Draft?

Osaro Eromosele:  BreakOut Athlete (BOA) located in North Branford, CT.

Alex Khvatov:  Describe your overall experience at the FCS Bowl in Daytona
Beach, FL.

Osaro Eromosele:  It was an overall great experience.  I met and went against guys that you will see at the next level for sure.  So being a D-II kid, and receiving honorable mention was big for me.

Alex Khvatov:  What was the biggest takeaway from that all-star game?

Osaro Eromosele:  My biggest takeaway from the all-star game was that my intangibles and technique showed that I can compete with guys at any level.  Also, football is a team sport you can have all the talent in the world but without a leader and being coachable, you’re going nowhere.

Alex Khvatov:  Coming out of high school, what programs showed interest in you?

Osaro Eromosele:  Out of high school I drew interest from D-I programs like Fordham and Old Dominion.  When those didn’t pan out, I chose the division-II school Southern Connecticut.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you choose Southern Connecticut State?

Osaro Eromosele:  I chose Southern Connecticut because they promised to develop me to become their next top NFL prospect.  They said I was a steal and should’ve gone D-I.

Alex Khvatov:  Why did you transfer to New Haven?

Osaro Eromosele:  I transferred to New Haven because they prepared me and taught me how to be the best person I can be on and off the field.  That’s exactly what they did considering the opportunity I have in front of me right now.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your strengths?

Osaro Eromosele:  My pass pro and punch are definitely my strengths.  With it being a passing league now, I would be a good addition to any offensive line at the next level.

Alex Khvatov:  What areas of your game are you trying to improve upon?

Osaro Eromosele:  Some areas I need to improve on is my run game.  This was partially because of playing 10lbs underweight, but I have fixed that and in top shape at the moment.

Alex Khvatov:  Tell us about your overall career.

Osaro Eromosele:  My overall career definitely shows that I’m a guy with a tremendous upside.  My first three years at Southern I went up to 350lbs, but I was always a guy that can move as a guard.  Then I lost about 50 pounds and was a 300lb tackle my last two years of college.  My last two years of college, I was an All-Conference selection and make lifelong friendships during this time.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the highlight of your career up to this point?

Osaro Eromosele:  The highlight of my career so far would be making it to the conference championship after going 9-0 in conference.  Then making the NCAA playoffs and advancing to the second round.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your biggest accomplishment in college that you are most proud of?

Osaro Eromosele:  The biggest accomplishment in college for me was making it to the second round of the playoffs.  Just being around guys that were all for the team was a good feeling for me.  I’ll never forget this.

Alex Khvatov:  What is the most important trait for an OL?

Osaro Eromosele:  Most important trait for O-lineman in this league is to be flexible and athletic, which is me if you watch my film.

Alex Khvatov:  What is your favorite NFL team?

Osaro Eromosele:  Texans fan since my freshman year of high school.  Since playing in an All-American game in their NRG stadium.

Alex Khvatov:  Who is your favorite NFL player?

Osaro Eromosele:  My favorite NFL player is a friend of mine Kemoko Turay.

Alex Khvatov:  Before the ball is snapped, what are the tendencies that you are looking for from the defense?

Osaro Eromosele:  Fronts first, to see if there’s a blitz coming or straight four.  From there I’ll look at the shade that’s lined up on me, while listening for any calls.

Alex Khvatov:  What players on your team should we keep an eye on for next season?

Osaro Eromosele:  Dennis James, Allah Sessions, Shawn Tafe and Dwon Walker.  All defensive players that have the size and heart to play at the next level.  We were going at it in practice and made us the players we are.

Alex Khvatov:  Who was the best player that you have faced on an opposing
team?

Osaro Eromosele:  Dondrea Tillman was pretty good from IUP.  We went at it first game of the season.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you enjoy most about football?

Osaro Eromosele:  I enjoy the competition every week especially when opponents know you’re good.  You are just going to accept the challenge every week and show you’re better than anyone lined up against you.

Alex Khvatov:  What are your hobbies?

Osaro Eromosele:  Beating all my friends in Madden or 2k for sure.  I love listening to music.  I can put my mind to anything, and I’ll make that my hobby.  I enjoy perfecting my craft.

Alex Khvatov:  What do you want to do with your life after your football
career is over?

Osaro Eromosele:  I definitely want to stay in athletics, but a career on the business operations side of things.

Alex Khvatov:  What five words best describe you?

Osaro Eromosele:  Adaptable, honest, motivated, creative and dependable.
