FIRST ROUND
BEST PICKS
13th Overall Pick OT Tristan Wirfs (Iowa) – Tampa Bay Bucs
They swapped picks with the 49ers. Bucs had to get better up front. They had to make it a priority to select an OL early in order to protect their QB Tom Brady. He was the best OL on the board at that point. He will play RT for the Bucs. He is an outstanding athlete with a wrestling background. He displays quick feet and very good hand placement.
17th Overall Pick WR CeeDee Lamb (Oklahoma) – Dallas Cowboys
It wasn’t the Cowboys biggest need, but they went with the best player on the board. Lamb has outstanding ball skills. He catches everything thrown his way. He is extremely elusive in the open field and displays terrific body control. He is also a very good blocker. He has experience playing outside and in the slot. The Cowboys have so many weapons and should have an explosive offense next season.
22nd Overall Pick WR Justin Jefferson (LSU) – Minnesota Vikings
He had an outstanding junior season at LSU (111 catches for 1,540 yards and 18 TD’s). He has a good catching radius and runs precise routes. He is a slot WR who shows nifty footwork in and out of his breaks. He makes tough catches in traffic. He will be a security blanket for Cousins on third down.
23rd Overall Pick LB Kenneth Murray (Oklahoma) – Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers traded up into the first round in order to select Kenneth Murray. They gave up a 37th pick (second round) and a 71st pick (third round) to the Pats. He has sideline-to-sideline speed and he closes on a ballcarrier in a hurry. He displays good instincts. He can play inside and outside LB.
